COD4

hey does anyone know some useful tips for call of duty? i got some but im looking for more.

-hide inside of corpses, when you kill someone crouch down and hide inside his body and wait for the next retard to pass by.

-in domination use c4 after you take over a flag, like hide a inside a building a distance away and wait for the game to call out your flag if its being taken by the enemy and bam. good to assign a flag to each team member to defend with c4 to make it hard for a enemy to take a flag.

-dont put claymores where someone can see the laser, but it a little farther back so its harder to see the laser but it will still explode if walked on. alot of people make that mistake and i just shoot the claymore then walk in and kill them.

-dont be afraid to shoot the helicopter with your main gun it will still pack a punch to it just make sure no one is around to kill you while shooting at it.

-never walk through the middle of a room walk around the outer edges so if someone does walk through the middle they wont see you until after there dead unless they were expecting you.

-if your about to walk into a few enemies find a good spot to hide in instead of running in so you have a better chance if not then use explosives first then shoot.

well thats all i can think of right now.... what tips can you share with us ?

To give you an idea...I generally have around a 4 to 1 K/D ratio and rarely dip below 2 to 1 in any game.

    First thing is first:

Use the gun that you are comfortable with in a given situation...you're not going to want to use an M-14 on Vacant unless you happen to be absolutely amazing with that gun

Don't force the issue as a Sniper...you not only need to choose your shots carefully, you also need to choose your position carefully, and don't be afraid to move!  if you kill a guy from a position that allows him to sneak up on you, then you need to move.  Having a reliable team helps here, as a good team generally won't let dudes sneak up behind you, because they'll be dead by the time that they get close.

martyrdom is for noobs on any map except for Shipment...go with either deep impact, or steady aim. (Iron Lungs for a Sniper obviously)  The only reason Shipment is a good map for Martyrdom is because people get killed by grenades on that map every couple of microseconds, you'll get a good number of kills from the perk, and you should be shotgunning on that map anyway, no need for steady aim with that weapon.

Silencers are best used for flanking techniques...if you're the kind of guy that likes to go full bore then you should go with a scope that you are comfortable with, and leave the silencer at home (they decrease damage over distances and accuracy because you aren't using a quality scope)  If you want to have a load of fun, put a silencer on any assult or sub machine gun, then sneak past enemy lines and kill the enemy team from behind, they won't know where the hell you are because people tend to stare at their radars so much.

UAV jammers:  Unless you want to go for the ninja thing, i would recommend stopping power...if you have fast enough reflexes that you are confident that you can take out people who get the jump on you, then go for stopping power, if not, a UAV jammer will significantly reduce the number of times you find yourself behind shot from the sides..but you lose a lot of punching power.

Juggernoob:  I don't use it out of principal...it's an overpowered and cheap perk that makes M-16's look like they aren't completely noob weapons.

M-16's are probably the best overall weapon in the game, though they may be tied with Mp-5's for that spot...the M-16 is incredibly accurate and powerful at long ranges, and can easily hold its own in a close range firefight...it also helps you conserve ammo...I don't tend to use M-16's out of principal, because I think that they are cheap, but I don't really blame the people that do use them.

Sprinting:  Be very careful when you choose to sprint...think of it this way..you can either get somewhere slightly slower and not die, or you can get killed while running like a fool around a corner....try to sprint in short bursts, this will increase your speed and minimize your chances of getting caught with your weapon unusable.

Knifing:  Don't try to knife people who are mroe than a few feet away, even if their backs are turned, it is almost always better to simply shoot them to death and (if you don't have a silencer) ghost yourself than to run after a guy and not get a kill because you wanted to be cute and knife him.  Also, try to get into the habbit of knifing people who come around corners at the same time as you...a lot of people tend to back upa nd then start shooting once their weapon is back down from the sprinting that they were doing...this is a very bad idea, as a good player will simply immediately knife you

Grenades:  choose your throws carefully...I can't tell you how many times I've caught a guy in the middle of a grenade throw when we both knew where eachother were...same goes for people getting caught instinctively reloading...unless you are absolutely out of ammo in yoru magazine and need to reload, do NOT reload after hiding behind a corner from a would-be attacker...it's almost always better to simply turn the corner and fire from the hip at him...many times you'll catch him reloading or throwing a grenade...other times he'll just be surprised and you'll get the jump on him.

That's all I can think of for now, but these are the things that i've really noticed make a difference...good luck to you.

wait a second 4 to 1???? wow thats insane im usually 50 - 50 or sometimes 2 to 1, but anyway i like the the way you talk about the uav jammers and silencers which i used before when i was a noob when the game first came out (i guess everyone pretty much was except some good fps veterans) and it didnt seem to help since no one looked at there radars that much and used martydom instead when i got to level 17. but now about almost 3 months later everyone dodges martydom and everyone looks at radar so i look forward to trying that one out.

    Tip from Rikimaru:

SMOKE BOMB: Great for indoors such as hallways. Duck in smoke and have that knife ready.

thats a good idea other than the fact of how can you see in the smoke? unless your just randomly stabbing i dont know how you can get a kill that way.

Put it this way...I live in a dorm, and when I play Call of Duty there is almost always at least one person in there watching me play, and often times there are multiple people watching...I'm really friggen good at the game.

It's great too because when people play the "no life card" with me I can just be like "you're right...i go to college and have two jobs...I have no life...but I still find time to be better than you at this game...want to make out?"

    stumps them every time

My new favorite perk is the one where you are virtually silent. Not only can they not hear you, but you can hear them moving even while moving yourself.

I also found I love the Shotgun. In Battlefield 1942: DC I was a god with the shotgun. I ignored it in COD:4 because I didn't do too well with it my first time and never gave it another shot. Now I get my best scores with it. So my advice here is to practice at weapons that are not used as often and you'll find their styles throw off a lot of other gamers.

One other tip is in how you set-up ambushes. Ducking back around a corner doesn't cut it. When someone follows you they are almost always thinking you are hiding in wait right around the bend. Instead either wait in the open or, if you have time, pop around another corner.

i wouldnt use the shotgun in maps with big open areas but its a real good weapon on vacant and shipment. and i dont set up ambushes around corners i just go to the corner and turn back and run at them if there close by and knife them if not just get some cover and shoot

I can see though the smoke. Ninja technique. Humm, why don't you randomly stab or maybe outside the smoke a little, pretend to be a dead body and lie on the floor. When one comes though, get up, dash and shank.

    ....ninja style?

I'd say the best technique is to kill everyone and not die.

I just thought up of a new one ok you know that really really small level that everyone dies every few nano seconds from air strikes, grenades and helicopters( well not so much helicopters) ok think its called shipment or something its the smallest level ever. well anyway if your not lost by now, first thing you do is select your shotgun, second you hide inside one of those containers with the barrel inside or some other form of cover so jsut sit behind it while having a clear view of the front but keeping the ability to get some quick cover, then just wait for people to pass by(you dont have to wait long since the map is so small. then just shoot them with the pistol if there a distance away but if they get close get them with the shotgun and watch the radar for someone coming so you can set an ambush. i got a really good k/d ratio this way and if someone happens to throw a grenade either throw it back out or if your too afraid just run out and get some cover then kill the guy and go back in. people dont usually think about you havig a shotgun or something and if there too cautious it doesnt matter your most likely going to kill them unless if there the best gunman ever or if they have that perk that gives you 3x frag grenades and they do it right but why would anyone waste three frag grenades on one guy?

Shipment = 3x frag grenade perk, Sonic boom, Martyrdom...throw all of your grenades to the side that the enemy is on when you spawn, and then try to find a good area with a lot of corners that people don't already know to try and shoot through, camping in those crates will usually work for a few kills, especially the one in the middle, but I wouldn't recommend pushing the issue, as a lot of players will simply know that you're in there and just start cooking grenades in there.

Ps.  I got my red tiger AK47 last night, am currently working on the MP44...man this weapon is an absolute beast.

For shipment, I use the m4 with a noob tube, sonic boom, and martyrdom.  That or my typical rpd kit, and the best place to hide is behind either broken down cars on the map.  Once you get an airstrike, the kills just stack up.  I went 142/ 26 on this map ( a 5/1 kdr isn't all too uncommon for me).
