What does this game have to offer?

Is it as intense as Call of Duty 4? Does it have cool guns and vehicles? Is the community good? Does it get updates? Is it worth the monthly fee? Is it so totally awesome that I have to get it?

Try the 14-Day trial and find out, it has its share of bugs but if you can stand some lag then give it a go. BTW, when you get in the best statement I can give you is start emulating others and then from there forge your own playstyle. Get into an outfit and learn the game, but be kind of picky when it comes to outfits make sure you're a good fit. Also, remember in the end its just a game. When you play it a lot losses sometimes gets personal especially when you spend hours defending a base and you lose. In other words, aquire a good stress ball and have some fun.

It'll be fun for a while if you havn't played it before.  But for those of us who remember what the game was before SoE put the death lock on it, just can't play this game again.  I'll try every now and again but always end up disappointed and thinking "Why did they do this?"

    its ok

its like most fps where you respawn and fight an enemy

but the bases are further apart and more options then just one fight

the problem is the same as fps too

many players hang back and let the enemy advance without a fight until they are at the base

they spawn camp for points, and heaven forbid that you take out the spawn point or ask the camper to do so that you can stop renforcements and take a base (sportsmanship does not exist in this game)

players who are organised and in a group about 6-8 take a base effortlessly hold it and forword capture another 1-2 bases.  good players vs avg players is no contest.

Then you got your greifers tking and other things

players can have chars in all 3 sides so +'s and -'s here

exp lvs and bonuses from lvls,  this ends with a negitive on gameplay as players dont go after the win or capture but rather exp. the result can be a greifers paridise and more. the end is all the bad stuff in fps can be worse in the game. the highest lv players are the worst bunch of noobs you can think of with few exceptions.

then you got bugs minor mostly but slow to fix

then you got hackers and cheats (gms dont stop them)

gms and customer service are non existant

no win one side cant win

it goes back and forth and if your side is winning well both side jump you but you saw that coming but server pop is not balanced so yeah and then the tking and spying using a differnet char and more.

    ------

    play a real fps

While i like the whole idea of a massive fight like this the way its done makes the worst players in fps's rewarded for bad behavior.

In counterpoint to the last person's eloquent remark...

The game is like any other FPS more or less. I personally have loved the game for a long time because of it's persistent design and battlefronts.

I also must admit this game is well past it's prime. The physics is dated and the feel is sluggish in comparison to other newer games. Really I would give the game a try, though I would be more inclined to say wait and buy Tom Clancy's EndWar when it comes out.

This game, in it's prime, was the most fun FPS I've ever played. That statement doesn't come lightly, as I was an avid Tribes player in the past (air-disking people 315 feet away avid), and this game trumps even that. Well, it did.

It's still fun, but not the same as it once was. You'll still see some of the things that made this game a classic though, like the gal drops. There is nothing more exciting than dropping on top of the roof of a base and striking with military precision the generator and cap room. Well, except for driving a sunderer through thick enemy armor =D Now THAT is fun.

Anyway, the pops are smaller now and the battles aren't as widespread, but hey, play the game for awhile. You might enjoy it. Just hope you don't start expecting other MMOFPSs to be like it... because we all know Tabula Rasa is made of fail.
