I must really be getting old. I wouldn't mind 80s songs being called classic if it had been a little better, but most of it is trash. There were some great songs from the 80s, but nothing like had been produced in the 70s. Minus the disco, of course.

I'm an eighties child ( born in '73 ) so I know how you feel. But I gotta say i love most of the '80's music. Everything from Ozzy to The Thompson Twins.
i like 80's music, like michael jackson's music and aerosmith's. i also like some of new waves but sometimes they're too annoying.
I had no problem coming up with some classics from the 80's, in fact it was really hard o limit myself to just one song per band in many cases. I even found a Madonna song I like to put in and that almost never happens.

You are teh evil.
my guilty pleasure is cheesy 80s synth-pop.
I love the 80's alough technicly Im a 90's child.
Since Im only 19. One of my favourite bands was from the 80's (Guns N' Roses)
But my alltime favourite band was from the 70's (Led Zeppelin)
Alough they are classed under the "classic rock" catagory, There music still seems fresh even today (for me anyway.)
I believe it shouldnt be a classic until its past the 50 year mark...lol They're trying to make us 20 something year olds feel old. The bands i do remember back when i was a little kid rocking out with my older brothers is Warrant, Ratt, Faster Pussycat, ZZ top, Van Helan, Bon Jovi, Shotgun messia, Autograph, White Lion and many others.

i don't think the link to the video above has been posted. so, there it is!
Ah the 80's! I loved that era! Neon colored clothes! Funky Music Positive attitudes. I actually think I liked the 1980's more then any other era. Then again I was born in the 1980's hehe. Then the 1990's hit and it all went to hell. I think if you had to ask people in my area what was worst though it had to be meth. Living on the I-5 corridor we saw such a increase of meth related problems that were just now starting to grasp how quickly we went down hill.
Great music about by the way! Chapman especially!
All I have to say is from living through the 80's as a teenager and then young adult, the music really sucked. I'd take the 60's, 70's, or 90's any day over the 80's save a very few songs and less than a dozen bands at most. Even the great bands from the 60's or 70's that produced albums during that time produced relative garbage IMO.
I love 80s music and I love 80s movies. I don't care for 80s tv, 80s style(hair or clothing), or the 80s as a decade.
80s music is feel good music.
Maybe I am wrong but I think Joey and True got the most airtime. Johnette Napolitano plays bass and they did a pretty good concert.
I was thinking of making a list the other day but then, usually don't get much response to music in these forums. Anyways, I had thought of some allready when I seen this post. There are many more I like but bad/no videos and wanted to keep list down.
I remember the Bullet Boys had one of the cheesiest vidoes of all time.
Uh, is it possible to not like both rock and disco? It goes against the natural rules.
Just to throw my 2 cents in, I gotta say of all the music I mostly connect with the 80's music. I don't connect hardly at all to any of the new bands. Today's music seems like packaged garbage to me. No originality or taking chances at all.
Even the cheesy songs from the 80's were at least from bands trying to do something different. Today it's just all the same. Negative songs filled with whining kids. Either that or something so bubble gum poppy that it's enough to make you turn the radio off.
