Ofcourse you can't put them all in here so I chose the biggest of their times. Sorry to the ppl that cut their teeth on another game.

runescape for a week hehe then it was daoc
Gemstone III if it can be counted as such. My first full graphical MMORPG was Ultima Online
Out of the ones listed, UO. I did, however, beta test The Realm and even before that, Yserbius and the other MedievaLand games on The Sierra Network and MUDs.
My first was Asherons call many moons ago..but I only played for a month. The first one that I actually played a bit was Knight Online in its Malaysian beta I think. Was when the game first came out ever anywhere.
Motor City Online, made by EA. However, my first serious MMORPG was DAOC in 2002.
MMORPG's w/ Max level characters: DAoC, SWG, & WoW
Currently Playing: WAR
Preferred Playstyle: Roleplay/adventurous, in a sandbox game.
man its hard for me to choose my first between two games since i kinda played both at the same time, but ima go with pristontale, man i loved that game when i played with my friends. my other was runescape.

Still some really good memories of losing thousands of dollars.

Good times!! I miss TSN and INN and everything that went with them.
SWG for me. Man i miss that game.
Ultima Online and than Anarchy-Online started in closed beta
Everquest for me...good times all around!
Oct 3rd, 1997, I started playing UO. Before that it was various MUDs.
There are 3 types of people in the world.
1.) Those who make things happen
2.) Those who watch things happen
3.) And those who wonder "What the %#*& just happened?!"
Everquest started it all, and my MMORPG addiction is still going strong.
It depends if you count much smaller games before UO.
If you do, my first is Kingdom of Drakkar, a paid graphical (sprite base) MORPG .. i omit the first M because it is not too massive. There are at most thousands of accounts and may be 100 people online at the same time. It was expensive though costing $2 PER HOUR.
I have also played various MUDS.
If you don't count those, the first will be UO.
My first memories of MMO's was my dad teaching me how to play the realm. It was so fun back then.
My first online game was during the golden years of console online gaming...
Phantasy Star Online for the Dreamcast.
Back then, you never heard of RMT or botting. The biggest thing you had to worry about was if that Lavis Cannon was legit or not.
But, my first and still favorite MMORPG would have to be FFXI. I love every little thing about this game. The classes are balanced, the storylines are deep, the quests are fun, and the end game content is just amazing!
I'm just about to get back into the game once my client updates and such.

We will rise again from the ashes. To take over Vana'Diel.
I know a lot of ppl played various MUDS as well as Meridian prior to UO. But I had to start the list somewhere, and I personally as well as many, consider UO the grand-daddy of them all and the true start of the MMO...

SWG Beta!!!
Neverwinter Nights, not the one by BioWare, but the one on AOL's service using the phenomenal Gold Box series engine from SSI. I think I paid $3.00 an hour or something like that to play that game hehe.

I began with Dark Sun Online: Crimson Sands around 1996 or so. It used to be hosted by TEN (Total Entertainment Network) which had all kinds of games (similar to GameSpy Arcade). I had a blast on TEN playing DSO and Quake, good times.

Mine was EQ, and I have no doubts I would still play it if the devs never try to make me raid*.
*For an achiever, the journey is determined by the path of progression, and raiding, is never acceptable for someone who just group/solo. So, if you are an achiever that just want to group/solo, only CoX is somewhat acceptable in the long run, and it is achieving-light and a nerf-doom. All these other MMOs on the left will force you to Raid/PvP/RvR with their path of progression, so for an achiever that is focused about grouping/soloing, there is only 1 MMO, and it is CoX...talk about starvation.

SWG on me... too bad I start in such a controversial mmo.
SOE intervened with their brain trust and decided to fix it even though it wasn't broke.

FFXI Online was my first MMO. Great game at the time.
