yeah, i voted everquest 2.. because if its anything close to EQ1, you know, changed content, new weapons, enemies then of course there is gonna be a huge outcome for yrs to come.. AND PLUS THE GRAPHICS ARE KICKA$$

    lol, thanks, tummbler

i also voted EQ2, not b/c it is at a top of my lists too get, BUT b/c you asked about which will have larger fan base. EQ1 had a huge fan base, no reason too think EQ2 won't have the same peeps and gain some with the upgrades in EQ2

    EQ 2 , no question.

Guys don't forget that most Asians play Lineage 2 so when it comes to the largest number of subscribers I believe they will win.

Most European and American subscribers will be EQ2 no doubt.

first of all this is not a full poll , why? there are LOTS of mmorpgs missing. and uhh yea. FFXi is the second or 3rd mmorpg with the largest community Lineage 1 WILL stay as 1, now... I dont think ANY mmorpg out there can beat the 4mill + and I think people are forgetting about The matrix online. I know.. even I have to admit. it looks sweet. so lets make a complete poll.

EQ2 will have the most of everything. Even if there is no PvP until later. EQ2 will still have more ppl playing than any other, and that includes me.

I did not say " Which MMO of all time will have the most people" I asked which out of that group would. I know Lineage 1 has a ton of asians and I could care less about it because they really arn't competing with the US versions of our MMO's like MEO, EQ2 and WoW.

right but L1 is still an mmorpg right? why leave it out of the competition. 4 million players is not an easy number to beat.

Yeah but if North America/Europe only had like 2 mmorpgs in their entire country/continent and that was Everquest and some other game....it'll be the same way.

Personally I think EQ2 will have the highest databse at first and then a pretty substantial drop after the free month (every hyped up mmorpg has this trend) and then it'll rise again

People who have to create conspiracy and hate threads to further a cause lacks in intellectual comprehension of diversity.

I think most of you are forgetting (or deliberatly forgetting) how Asians (especially Koreans) gobble up Blizzard games. They live and breath games for the most part, thats why, although i hate to say it, WoW will have the biggest player base. I hate WoW since its just a stupid EQ clone but it will have the biggest player base. EQ has a big player base, but i think alot of people who were turned off by EQ and SWG wont go back for more.

WoW due to them probably releasing before eq2, and their loyal fanbase that otherwise perhaps wouldnt play mmorpgs...

uhm what is AO and AC2 doing in the poll btw? they dont even show up on the map :p theres more ppl in wow beta than those put together lol

WoW simply because each of Blizzard's games sell like 6+ million copies.

Don't believe me? Watch the sales report for the game 1 month after its release.

I voted for EQ2 as well.  I have heard that Lineage1 has the most players but I have also heard that there are big difficulties within the game right now and that those player numbers might diminish.

I agree with knives about not representing all the games...I am puzzled about why bother doing a poll for a select few when there is no criteria for that selection?  I mean, why did the Torx select those few?

As for, if EQ2 is anything like EQ, I would say not a chance.  The team that created the original EQ is now at Sigil, creating Vanguard: Saga of Heroes.  Their release day is a ways off, otherwise I would have voted for them image

WoW or EQ2. i personally will play whichever hits open beta first. both games look equally good in their own right.

Just change the thread to "which MMORPG will have the larger player base in north America."

Also, why do koreans play the lineage series? don't they realise there are games tons better?

Frankly, if WoW and EQ2 are shipped to Korea and they continue playing lineage 2, they are missing a lot...

honestly if you're looking at it in a more "worldly" way and not so much just North America, Lineage 2 takes it... Lineage 1 and Lineage 2 each have more players then any NA game out now...

but since this is probably one of those typical "North America only, because nothing else matters" threads i guess i'll vote for WoW... flaming fanboys = teh win...

    --------------------------------
Games Played - Lineage, Lineage 2, Helbreath, RuneScape, Priston Tale, Tibia, RYL, Dark Eden, Savage Eden, Astonia III, Ashen Empires, El Kardian, Fung Wan Online, Project Entropia, Ultima Online, Ragnarok Online, Redmoon, Thesa, Conquer Online, Deloria, Fairyland, MU Online, Legends...

    Even if I agree...

WoW start will be 5 times stronger then the most awesome start of any MMORPG, and it will have, in it start, more players then any game will have in any long term basic.

Folks that never play MMORPGs or swear they never gonna pay a monthlee fee are going for WoW :)  But they wont play for 6 months, even less years. :)

WoW attract many many soloers...I am kinda excited to expect to read the forums of their websites after the players realized they need to raid to earn anything worth naming!  *grin*

And dont tell me the guy playing DiabloII over and over, or warcraft III all the time is not a soloer, they barely meet 1-3 others players in a game session, that hardly qualify as a grouper since they usually do their stuff in their corners away from others!
