abt monks

I, for one, am against having the monk as a purely martial arts profession.  Swords, perhaps, are not befitting of a monks' reputation.. claws, staves, and spears seem more sensible from an RP perspective. I am, however, -against- pure fist / martial arts melee!  In a prior MMORPG [Anarchy Online] the Martial Artist bore the full brunt of a broken no-weapon attack system.  Damage and Attack Rate gradually scaled as the MA increased in level, but never scaled as fast as others able to over-equip and upgrade to new equipment in future patches and expansions. If it were possible to be done correctly, a martial arts monk would add style to the profession, but there are serious concerns about such a profession keeping pace [having a unique, defined role] with all weapon-based profs

make a higher monk class called the herbalist. where he can pick the plants of the areas depending on where he is and make healing herbs. and make herbs that replenish magic. can be used by certain levels and classes example make an herb that works only for mage classes that will replenish magic at a simple steady speed, ex 10mp every 5 seconds for 60 seconds. and another for a combatant replenish 10mp ever 3 seconds for 30 seconds. will help the combatant more with the MP for their special skills, and wont be to much help to a mage because of meditation which really dont need that much mp replenishing items. same as healing herbs, can fix the freeze burns or something along that line, kills the poison that some monsters give you, will stop the poisoning
