Manor System

SuperSixSuperSix Member Posts: 1

Hi,

I just started playing Lineage 2...which so far I enjoy.  I have a question though about the manor system.

I was told that a great way to get Adena from the start of the game is by using the the manor system, the only problem is that when I talk to the NPC all the harvest/seeding is recommended on monsters at a much higher level than me.  I was under the impression that the manor system could be used  with a lower level character.   As of today I am level 18,  do I need to wait until I am level 40 + to use the manor system or am I just missing something?

Thanks in advance

no you don't your either looking the wrong place since you can start seeding at lvl 10 or around there if not the manor system is set wrong or set to favor some other lvl's...

oh and manor isen't that super at every lvl's it's a good way to earn adena's but once your 40 + they might be quest's who offer's better rewards then manaor

The manor system is an integral part of L2 and its player driven economy. The Manor is effectively an extension of the Castle Lords influence over his region. It is both taxed and contributes directly to the wealth of the ruling clan. The Manor system takes a bit of getting used to and requires an understanding by the Castle Lord of the general economic turn over in his domain. The level at which you can start is easily worked out by the levels of the seeds available from the manor in your nearest town.

The principle concept for each manor system is to use seeds as precursors for a manufacturing process. Each castle will have a number of items which can be "manufactured" through a Castle Manager. The seeds must be bought by the Castle Lord and subsequently  "sold" to the players. The castle lord must work out how many seeds he is likely to sell in a given cycle in order to subsequently buy them back from the players. The buy back scheme works by exchanging various materials for "mature" seeds. These are the seeds which the players take and "cast" on a mob before it dies and subsequently on death using a harvester (a manor bought scythe looking contraption) collect their seeds from the dead mob.

The players then sell the mature seeds back to the Manor manager at an appointed time. The Manager does not have to and infact only buys back that portion of the seeds which the Castle owner determines that are required for his production an has subsequently purchased the requisite amount of materials sought by players in exchange for their seeds. Its not a precise science, however, if you hold on to a Castle for long enough your economic understanding will grown and your forecasts will become more and more accurate. The seeds which you do not sell in one cycle can be sold in a later cycle or in another manor as long as that manor accepts that type of seed. (yes, there are lots of different ones)

The issue a lot of players are having is that the botted accounts log in automatically and effectively "sell out" the respective manors out of materials before the legit players can take advantage of them. Its always a bit of a hit and miss affair but with perseverance you can do it.

The other issue which must be understood with seeding is that, its the "alternative" system to material gathering to spoiling with a dwarf.

When you seed , the mob will only drop adena, it will not drop any other materials. So for those clans or group without a dedicated dwarf spoiler, its a viable alternative of getting large volume of materials for crafting. The method is definitely reliable and as indicated just takes a bit of perseverance to sell/exchange all your seeds back through the manor system for the material of your choosing (as defined by the seed you buy)

As with everything else in L2, seeding is level related so ensure you check which seeds are suitable for which levels and which region.

I'm still really confused on how the Manor system fits into the game... it just seems to take up an eccessive ammount of in-game time that could be used to level or do quests... I am very new to it, though, and I'm still pretty low level.

There are two types of grinds in the game. Money and xp.

You either do one or the other usually.

Most the the leveling is by grind anyway (quest rewards are not really that great and there aren't a huge amount of quests).

So you can either do the manor (which is easier to do if your characters is melee) or you can make another character just for manoring.

If your main can manor easily then you are still getting xp for the mobs you kill. If you make another character.. well, you need money no matter what lvl.

Manor worked for me until the 50s. Then doing the math i realised i would lose money to buy seeds my level and sow them. That was in Oren tho, i don't remember why i coudnt seed in other zones. Prolly because they were always sold out or not buying for more than 30 sec. I work at buy time so i can't stand there with my finger on the button. I heared also the change is done at +4 or +6 min off actual drop time, never got to see if it was true.

I am trying to learn he Manor System myself but there is one thing that I still have not figured out. When I turn in my seeds how can I see how many mats that I willl recieve before I sell. I know each seeds offer 2 types of mats in return. I need to know how much of each mat I will get in return so I can know which mat to choose.
