eq was a cleric, eqII was a cleric. Vanguard...oh yea, was a cleric. Wow was a pally, that game didnt have a cleric class. SWG, weapon smith, that game didnt have a cleric either. Shadowbane....was a cleric.
I usually like to play caster classes. For aion, will be looking closely at sorcerer, spiritmaster, and chanter. Or I may try a tank (which I have yet to do in an mmo).
I find the classes to be a bit uninspired, and 8 options seems somewhat limited. However, if the gameplay is fun, that's all that matters.
I'm currently trying to decide between a sorc/ranger. I'll try both soon as I can get my hands on a client. But till then I'll wait for it and a fully translated breakdown of skills, effects, cast times and cool downs.
So far i have no idea yet, it all seems pretty nice, even tho my preference always as been templars or rangers , probaly something like that.
I'm going to aionsource soon to find more about these classes , i'll probaly get back on the subject after i found out more about skills, abilities, gameplay etc.
I think that my first charachter will be an assasin as i have never really played a class like it. I am indeed normally a warrior class (although I play caster / ranged classes a LOT too) but the assasin seems different to the normal walking suit of armour with a ridiculously big metal stick to wack things with.
Once i'm done with assasin, I'm probably going to try out the caster classes as I simply find that by changing my style of play often, I stay interested.
Cleric, without question. I've never really excelled at any role other than main healing in these kinds of games.
Well, provided I'm back in the US by launch day anyway. If I miss launch I'm not sure if I'll even bother - one thing I learned from WoW is if you miss the bus in a level-based game it's really, really hard to catch up.

Either, Spiritmaster, Gladiator, Templar, or Chanter
I will be going either cleric or chanter depending on the skills and weapons they have.
I can see there are going to be a lot of magic and long range users. I think I will stick with the good old warrior close up type.
Chanter! i think heh tho.. i tend to go with whatever character i think looks the best during the character creation
Either Ranger or the heal heal class, not the one with short term buffs. It depends if my brothers are going to play or not.
Assassin for me, as long as the skills improve
Spiritmaster for sure can't wait till the game comes out!
definitely sorcerer. magic books as weapons ftw!
hrm lets see.

It's leaning towards a ranger but a healer should be nice too.. it's swaying back and forth for me.
I will be whatever class that can dual wield, have bad ass looking armor and dont have to be concerned about anything but doing a lot of DPS.
Too many DPS-wanting people on this thread. I might as well be a tank(which is it? Templar?) to balance it out.
I Will be a sorcerer. was interested on cleric also, but allready been a healer in my previous MMORPGS, so wanna go for the DPS side now
Will start Aion with very 3 close friends, each of us will have different class with different armors so we can easily trade stuff .
Leaning towards chanter, with an interest in assassin aswell, it will depend on wether the chanter has solo pvp abilities or not.

I think im gona choose the assasin cause they can duel weild with to decently sized blades!
do work

Even though i love healing in other games, i've been leaning towards assassin (Assassins with polearms, now how cool isn't that!?!?)
But i will probably alt a Chanter or Cleric too..
I still haven't decided...I think I'll go for one of the more magical ones though, chanter maybe.
then again, with those stigma stones it really does leave your options more open. awesome.
I think ill go for the Templar. class looks cool to me
Rangers seem to be rigged in almost every MMO I play *caugh* Rappelz, WoW, AOC *caugh* just to name a few
Take the Magic: The Gathering 'What Color Are You?' Quiz.
