Hi
Just a small problem, i know there is a scheduled downtime inbetween 11 and 12 GMT. I got up at half ten this morning, so i decided i would go on EVE. But when i logged in, i got a message saying that 11-12 GMT was downtime, so i decided to log out, and come back as i can't do anything useful in less than half an hour. So i come back on at 12 and log in, and server 'GMT' time is only 11, and the server downtime closes EVE down.
Did they forget to put the clocks forward or something? They don't understand the simple concept of daylight savings time? I live in the UK which is a GMT time zone. EVE need to change the server time to accomodate for this. I don't mind the downtime, and i think that they have been kind to notify us, and keep it to a schedule. But they scheduled the time wrong.
I think EVE needs to set their GMT to the actual GMT time, at the moment they have GMT -1, which is the time, sort of in the middle of the atlantic.
Well done. After the actual downtime i don't have time to log in, so it has caused me an inconvenience. Once again something really small that would take a few seconds to fix, has put me off buying a game.
And just to clarify, the notice said "Server downtime between 11am and 12pm GMT time", so thats why i'm annoyed, they specifically stated a time that is wrong.

EVE-time is always GMT, and GMT don't move.
It's the UK that have GMT+1 right now, due to DTS.
Well its still confusing when it says 'enter your time zone' and it says 'UK - GMT' at all times of the year. It implies that GMT is what the time on big ben is.
Why does it seem that you blokes in the UK know less about GMT than the rest of the world sometimes, when you invented it!
GMT is NOT a time zone, it is a standard time that all time zones are based off of. It never looses or gains an hour - ever.
The UK's timezone is GMT+0 in the winter, and GMT+1 (also called BST) in the summer.
Yep, so when creating a profile and it says: "select your timezone:"
That actually is saying: "where are you from mofo"
