Ofcourse Spore, every other game on that list will be aither good or overhyped, but only Spore can bring something truly inovative. Who knows, if the masses love it, we could see some of it rubb off on the incoming MMOs. Is there realy a MMO gamer who wouldn't love even just a tiny part of promissed PVE interaction in that "game"?

    Maybe Starcraft 2 after that...

I really look forward to Spore..I've not enjoyed a Simulation game from Maxis in a while (though The Sims was crap).

Starcraft 2 just sounds like more of the same from Blizzard...I wasn't that impressed with Warcraft 3 (I didn't hate it but I thought 2 was better).   Either way this year hold alot of hope for PC gaming.

    1) Spore because it is something that may turn out to be truly different and deep.

    2) Thief 4 Because i loved the last game since the series.

    3) Stalker - Clear Sky's because the first game was good id like to see how it progresses.

    4) Half life 2 Episode 3 Every game in the series was fun and the story is one i want to see continue.

    5) Crysis 2? OK haven't heard much here but it would be good to get off the cliffhanger we were left with.

    6) Starcraft 2 Not expecting anything innovative as Blizzard lately tends not to do such things but i did enjoy  Online gaming with Starcraft back in the day before the cheats came in.#

    7) Aion it actually looks like a beautiful game with an art style i do like and if the promises are true the game-play will be more 'Western' in nature.

    8) War/AOC might not sub to either but i am curious about them.

    9) The Elderscrolls MMO

    10) Darkfall because i do suspect it will come out but it wont meet the promisis and the Crying from some sections will provide me much mirth!

Another great example of Moore's Law. Give people access to that much space (developers and users alike) and they'll find uses for it that you can never imagine. "640K ought to be enough for anybody" - Bill Gates 1981

  • That author really needs to get over WoW.  He is on the right track about being leary of things because of the addiction, now he just needs to stop looking for something else to be addicted to.

I put Fallout 3.  Its the only one that get me really excited.  Its Fallout and its Bethesda, nuff said.  Also I try to never get too hyped out about any MMORPG because they are perpetually addictive and because they are perpetual works in progress.  Its just better to never have an MMORPG be the top of your mental list of anything.

Spore is my number one, by far. I've been looking forward to Spore for quite some time (I can't remember exactly how long it's been since it was announced, but it's been a while).

RA 2 was fast, fun and deep. It made Starcraft and Age of Empires 2 look glacial by comparison without sacrificing anything that makes RTS games great.
    <sigh>.....

Gotta agree on Total Annihilation, that game was the best, especially considering the crap that was out when it came out.

The most anticipated pc game by a mile is Spore.  Nothing can even match the hype around spore.

  • fuellefuelle Member Posts: 44

When I read a while ago that Spore might finally come out this year, I was really excited.  I hope it will live up to all the hype, but at least it will be the most innovative game in a long time even if they don't get everything right.  But overall for me I would say I'm looking forward to WAR the most, Spore second most, and everything else I will not die without.  I guess I would put AoC at a distant third since I am not playing anything at the moment, and I would like something to pass some time until WAR and/or Spore releases.

Have to add Dues Ex 3 also to my list now that I see it is being worked on also.

  • GayiaGayia Member Posts: 89

I don't get the hype on WAR, seems like the same ole wow no depth game but wont really know for sure I guess till it comes out. My top games are AoC and Chronicles of Spellborn.

What is your most anticipated PC game coming out this year?

    I like Starcraft 2

  • baffbaff Member Posts: 9,457

Ther trouble with Spore is that all the games these people have ever made sounded fantabulous and new in concept and all turned out to be boring as you like on release.

Creatures, wow. How dull was that?

    Black and White? Terminally dull.

I was stoked by the concepts for both, but they were mediocre games.

    All hype and no trousers.

Going to be a lot of disappointed people when War comes out.  Just me say, "I told you so" right now.   Mythic could not write a good computer game if their lives depended on it.

We'll just have to wait and see.  I've been pretty impressed by all that I've seen of Spore so far and I wasn't even interested in the game orginally.

If only there were some legitimate MMO's out there as ambitious as Spore...
