I just downloaded the game yesterday and was actually pleasantly surprised with the combat. The pvp aspect seems like it could also be somewhat fun. My problem is the grind. My character is level 11 and already I've been killing the same dogs repeatedly and the levelling is slowing to a crawl. Why would I continue with this boredom? I tried to ask in global but then I find out I can't until I hit level 15. The game definately seems like it could have potential for a F2P but if it's this slow at level 11 then what could I expect in later levels. I thought about just doing quests but your character moves so damn slow that it takes forever just to get where i need. Any thoughts or suggestions?

Hey bud,
The combat is pleasantly surprising. The animations are pretty as well. But Metin is a grind you will be killing the same 6-7 types of mobs. whether this is your forte is up to you. But from my experience it was a grind. Hope this helps
I'm not unfamiliar to a grind... I just want to know why would I grind to a high level in this game?
I'm really only concerned with the pvp. Is it fun and exciting? rewarding?
Seems like it could be but the lack of character customization also seems like everyone could be very cookie cutter.
It's all about fame. If you are famous and powerful, you will have chance to be selected as a King. Kings have special powers like summon monsters teleport etc, and their royal armors look great.
Omg, u are lvl 11 and you are killing dogs. It's normal if you kill mobs of lvl 1 that u don't advance.
In one hour, i can be lvl 15 on metin. Just start killing bears and other stuff, if you are to scared of mobs with the same/ a bit higher lvl than you then u need to party up somewhere and u will hit lvl 20 very soon. (White Oath party: 2nd map)
The quest give good rewards in the beginning and further in the game too but the reward/ amount of quests decrease. I got a char of lvl 40, didn't spend much time on it.
But i'm retired now, it's much grinding after lvl 40 and the game will bore you more and more because you can't use more than 5-6 spells. (If metin2 want to keep players on the game they will soon need new spells...)
U go slow maybe u should use a horse riding ticket if u need to go far away, horses go much faster. + Ever thought using a speedpotion (you can buy them from pharmacist) they will give you some extra speed. If you are a mage you can speed yourself up (spell: speed of wind). Or just go to lvl 20 or something and do the shaman quest so you get wind boots (that makes a difference 4 sure) .
First off... the dogs are not level 1. From what I noticed there weren't even any level 1s anywhere. They were around levels 3-13.
Second off... I don't really care how fast you can level in the game. Did you even read what I wrote?
Thirdly... Did I ever think of doing such and such? Sure, did I know about it? No. Can I ask in global yet? No.
Would have been nice if you could have responded with an answer to my question.
Sorry if I sound insulted from your response... but frankly I am.
So I ask again... Is the pvp fun and exciting towards the later levels?
PVP in Metin2 is fun. Many people stand around town chating with friends and looking for duel. Is it rewarding? Not really, You dont get any exp or anything from a duel. All you will get is the fame like said in the other post. The higher lvl you get the more fame you get. Depending on how well you build your char, you could even have people looking for you from other nations just to see if they can beat you. Once a month there is a Nation War in metin2 where all 3 nations come together and have a massive battle, winning nation gets an exp/gold drop event for a week. there are also guild wars you could take part in. Just join a good guild who likes to war. Hope this helps.
Much Love,
Estiva
Maybe u should re-read your own FIRST post, before "insulting" me... U need to be happy because i read your noobish topic named GRINDY, u know what it means? No it's isnt PVP ...
"My problem is the grind. My character is level 11 and already I've been killing the same dogs repeatedly and the levelling is slowing to a crawl." I gave you suggestions and you asked for it ! Maybe you should try and read my text... >>"Any thoughts or suggestions?"
"I thought about just doing quests but your character moves so damn slow that it takes forever just to get where i need. Any thoughts or suggestions?" Hmmm, i think i gave you a suggestion for that too... . Or maybe u should try and use a translator/parents/grandparents if you don't understand it.
The pvp aspect seems like it could also be somewhat fun. Hmmm, doesn't sound like a question to me? But sw i could have given you a thought . Estiva did it for you maybe you should thank her. To be honest i don't know that much about the pvp...
Kind regards,
Healthy
