I have never played a game as good as that one......and probably never will......
Will some company step to the plate and publish a SWG game on the 'sand box' principle with skills vice levels???/

Fallen Earth does hold some hope though, and it is a game I am waiting for.
Yeah, i'm really hoping a combat game where you live in the world comes along again, just with maybe some more content updates. Especially a sci-fi one. Getting tired of "heres your goal, go!"

at this point i've given up hope for anything even close to the complexity of SWG. I had hopes for darkfall but the game is never coming out. I'd be happy if a game would just have a decent crafting / economic system.

Totally right... there is no game like this one...
What saddens me is that I would rather have PRE CU SWG to return, preferably with a graphics update and some serious developers to change the minor problems there were, even the thing out... THAT would give me the game I want. As long as they fix how and who can be jedis..
Unfortunately Bioware is most likely doing KOTOR online, and that probably means LA will pull the plug of SWG and then it is gone forever.
And I for one is not going to be excited if Bioware wants to do WoW with lightsabers and call it Kotor online...
Let me have a real sandbox mmo...

The game is done. I think even if they put up pre servers tomorrow a great portion of the hardcore vets wouldnt return(imho) my hope is Earthrise will be the replacement game. Skill based, big time crafting, factional pvp...ect

Ryzom (science-fantasy skill-based sandbox with deep crafting and harvesting and several other unusual or unique features).
Too bad most people never noticed it and among the few who did, even fewer had the capability to appreciate it. Now the servers are down and its future is uncertain.

Ryzom was a decent game but nowhere near as fun as Pre-CU SWG.
Fallen Earth looks pretty fun. Earthrise looks like the next sci-fi Sandbox we are all waiting for.

EvE Online is the only space based "Sand Box" game in town. IMHO it rocks. Once CCP completes it's ambulation ( Having your character walk around in station. ) concept and launches it'll have even more depth to it.

i don't know about all of you but i would rather have a game with 250k players on it then 3k that swg has now.

I agree... earthrise will be great. But i can't help the sinking feeling it will vecome vaporware, most games that promise the same usually do. But heres to hoping!

EVE+Ambulation=Pre-CU on steroids.
You know, i have followed them for quite some time. And while i fully appreciate your optimism. I think that game will never see the light of day. Which is a shame. It would turn the very foundation of mmos on its head. And it would be heaven in the mmo genre. :P

Ambulation is going to rock. I might even just subscribe to socialize with others on stations... I just hope they make ground based combat etc.
