I have played the game for two days now, and I know theres many of you that swear this game is great, and the problems are being caused by this or that, but I am done. Performance is awful, Content is boring, and I don't know if its just me but I don't pay for MMOs when they are secretly single player games in disguise. "revolutionary combat" = you have too mash 3 buttons instead of 1. I mean COME ON are people accually gonna pay for this? As far as the graphics, people don't always understand that sometimes less is more. Loading times are terrible, I mean REAL bad. The games story isn't bad but thats the only thing I think the game has. Sorry for blabbing but I had to get it out.
It makes me mad that the people that still buy and subscribe to these unfinished, half arse games. It just allows different companies to release utter crap.
See ya in Warhammer, hopefully a game where someone gives a crap.

Clearly your 13 levels of stress testing warrant a valid opinion of a game.
I mean COME ON people that buy this kinda "review" are completely ignorant to the fact that if they were playing WoW they'd be heroic striking 3000 times and killing harpies over and over and we all know...that right there is all that wow has to offer amirite.
Just uninstall it and walk away, as you wait for your warhammer. We can live without your opinion I think.

Saying it doesn't start 'til level 20 is conceding the point.

Your view of WoW is really not that far off from AoC except instead of heroic striking, your pressing 3 buttons over and over and over, give it up the game is trash.

I have a half decent computer and it runs like a dream for me... a little lag every now and then in a populated area but nothing i havn't experienced in other games. Loading times are 30seconds at most for me also nothing i can't handle. I for one am enjoying the lore and the combat and am looking forward to see how this will progress pass 13. Not having any of the problems the above user posted. I am playing on a pc 2.4 core 2 8800gts 2 gig of ram settings on high (except shadows) 1680x1050 and probably average of 20-30 fps more towards 20 in tortuga.
My friend BTW had similar problems to the OP but some tweaking of settings and an updated driver fixed in completely.
Your obviously a WAR fan....If you have made up your mind with in 2 days of BETA TESTING then YOU FAIL.
Don't confuse a players ability, with a class being Over Powered.

Though I do wish combat was more like Oblivion. I like 'swinging the mouse' like a sword.

Cause I hear combat in WAR is really, really revolutionary. You get to mash 13 buttons instead of just three (or five as in later stages of AoC).... AND in WAR a 3D fist pops out of your monitor and punches you in the face when you get killed. Pretty cool, eh?!?!
Have fun waiting another 6-12 months for your WoW clone...
Your opinion matters just as much as every other wannabe critics does.
If you don't like it, go back to WoW, and wait another half a year for War, we don't care. Just because a game is lagging, and buggy during a STRESS test doesn't mean it'll be bad in the long run, and if you're as dumb as you seem, you wouldn't know what a stress test was, believe it or not, I bet there'll be some just like you when Wars beta comes out.

Nah... I see the potential in AoC. Potential that isn't necessarily apparent in Beta form. I'll reserve judgement after my 1st 30 days run out. Only then, with dozens of hours playtime under my belt, will I be able to make an educated and informed decision on staying or moving on. Until then Funcon has my attention, how they handle that 1st 30 days will determine if they get more of my money.
I have been reading the postings and previews of AoC, and that statement there is the key point. Although AoC is in Beta, Beta has lost its original meaning of testing only, to now more of testing and marketing.
Additionally from the looks of things, seems that FunCom did not effectively inform the users of what the Beta entails. For example, is there a page of text or something that pops-up before game play to inform the user of what to expect for now and what will be available later (not via forums or web sites, but during game play)?

this is the reason i never buy an MMO until 3-6 months after release. by that time a large majority of the bugs are taken care of and people are able to talk about their impressions and end-game content first hand. personally, i think its dumb to have to pay for an open beta. i almost reserved it at best buy until i looked at the back and they were asking for credit card numbers and what not before even being able to log into the game.

This is strictly based on the "single player" game aspect...Yes...it has been noted many times...and it sounds like the OP would prefer kill 10x quests instead of working up and learning controls, and playing in a story....

but evil Loadingtimes.. up to +2 minutes
freezes every now and then, im pretty sure thats the debugger.
zoning , instancing, invisible walls.
For me this dosen´t feel like a world,
like WOW, Vanguard or Lotro, even less then EQ2.
It has to much of a guildwars taste.
Thats why i wont play it.
I also believe it will go gold very unpolished.
even if some people here still believe in the *miracle patch* or *miracle build*
maybe they dont remember D&L, Vanguard,
Horizons, TR, Potbs... or cant read obvious signs ^^

I'm sorry me spamming them with feedback is not going to help the game. They are going to release crap, people are going to buy the crap, then another company will follow suit. The moronic followers will then attach themselves to that game and swear the game is FREAKIN AWESOME, then the game will release and fail.
I dunno pretty much hooked me in first 13... btu what people also have to realise is 13 in this game isn't like 13 in other games. it moves pretty quickly it's so little content you're judging a game on. A concole game gives you maybe 40 hours of gameplay and people pay for those without a demo or trial. An MMO gives you hundreds of hours and people don't wanna pay for the box without a beta. Buying the box doesn't make you pay a monthly fee it gives you 720 hours of gameplay and all the game files.
Even though the beta hasn't been the BEST thing ever made i found it enjoyable but it hasn't swayed my oppinion of the game one way i'm still gonna buy the full thing and try it out for 30 days before i make my judgment about subscription.
Look at World of Warcraft. If you ask the majority of people they'll all more or less tell you that the game starts at 70. Wandering through the world doing quests over and over again with barely another soul around surely makes people want to play a multiplayer game more right? I mean if the game was worth playing through the lower levels people might actually be found in the lower level areas instead of speeding through and power leveling one another with the fastest possible options while more or less disregarding the others around unless they can somehow benefit from their presence.

No required quests! And if I decide I want to be an assassin-cartographer-dancer-pastry chef who lives only to stalk and kill interior decorators, then that's who I want to be, even if it takes me four years to max all the skills and everyone else thinks I'm freaking nuts. -Madimorga-

That is not true at all, when I first played SWG in the beggining i was like wth kinda game is this there was nothing to do and i roamed around for days trying to find out what the game was about until i ran into a good bunch of people and they showed me around and set me up with some equipment. Than I was hooked.You have to give the game a chance, I know that till 20 the game is a single player but that is to prep you for the real world and lets not forget that AoC is still in beta so dont expect the best stable servers, no game is perfect but im still going to try what its all about because I love to try new MMOs even if they are hyped to be something they are not. Hopefully AoC isnt one of those MMOs.
