Having a certain website will most likely NOT mean they do not care about the game/will not have many subs. The reason WoW and AoC have such great sites is because they have money to spare, so they decide to make some fancy site. Other games that do not have this money to spare will not waste money on paying a web designer to make some fancy website. Games that are early in development OR are new to the MMO publicity will also not have great sites, since there is no need for one.
You seem to somehow think that every game NEEDS a good website to be a success. That is clearly bullshit, since people get these fancy sites AFTER they become a success/get a large amount of publicity.
The games like Darkfall and CoS really don't need great websites, since a) they are a new company b) not far in development and c) are new to the large amount of publicity. As long as a site gives recent info about a game and all the necessary aspects to get someone interested, then I could really care less about how the web design is. Also, you make it seem that web designing is simple to do, especially for someone who is not experienced in that field. Well guess what, it is a complex job, although you make it seem extremely simple. Also, web designers can be rather expensive, and read here so you can see that web designers can cost from $1500-$2000 dollars.
Just because a company does not have a great website does not mean they are not serious...Although Adventurine does show other ways they are not serious, web design is NOT one of them.

It is NOT a good thing that they ignore a poor web site, and it does NOT mean they are able to put extra polish on the game. Any reason they give for this will be one that reflects poorly on the company. (Lack of money, lack of time, lack of skill, lack of interest - all bad.)
Frankly, it is low on my list of "things that concern me about Darkfall", but it certainly is valid.

I might be wrong, but isn't their dev team about 20 people, maybe 40? So they should hire another person, for 7 years, at probably 50k/year or more, to do occasional updates to their site? Then if you want to say that they could just hire him to make the site and be done, wouldn't it be better to wait until the game is close to being done so that the website won't need updates. Definately not a good idea for someone on a tight budget. That does not make business sense. Don't argue business sense if you have none. Seems to me they could spend that 50k/year on another programmer or artist, someone who contribute to the game everyday.
Furthermore, look at WoW, they have a fantastic site, yet I would not go back to their game even if no more mmorpg's ever came out. Sure they have 10 million players, but that doesn't mean crap if you don't personally like the game now does it. So as far as I am concerned, WoW, as a game, is a failure.
If DF was really marketing their product hard, and being the small company they are, I would be worried. If they thought the game needed lots of marketing, I would assume the game is less than spectacular. Halo 3 anyone? Also, the people that are actually following it now, will probably make up a minority of the customer base. When they release they can revamp their site and be ready for new customers. Take any financially successful game and you will see that players that followed the game before release, were a very small group, I'm talking games with 500k+ subs, really this will probably apply to even unsucessful games.
Let's compare the website for Adventurines 2nd or 3rd game to that of AoC and War. Those companies making those games already have released games, so they already have a nice cash pile to throw at web designers and hookers. I guess I could go to a mom and pop restaurant and complain that their advertising isn't as good as McDonald's so their food must also suck.

I'am sorry but Darkfalls website looks like it was built by an 8'th grader just learning photoshop.... The UI design work is horrible.. you can barely read the fonts without squinting.... most of it has completely outdated info.... it's rarely updated.. Does this look like a company who is serious about putting out a game? A games website represents the quality of the company and the product.. Darkfalls website is a joke.

Look, I never said the website was the greatest either nor is it the worst I've seen on the web by far. Its actually about average. Nothing more, nothing less, just average. My main problem is not what your saying at all it's with you, period. You're a troll that comes into this forum to do nothing but try to rip this game apart. I'm no huge fan of Darkfall's development either but I take the good with the bad. All you see is bad and it's gone to the point that I feel you are truly neurotic about it. Others like Zorvan, Ghoul31, Kyleran and many more come into this forum and have negative views about Darkfall but they all also acknowledge the good points of Darkfall as well. So you really think it takes $50,000 a year to build a website and update it? C'mon let loose the common sense....
That's not what I said.
It doesn't take more than a few thousand dollars to hire either a web dev studio to build a very nice website or a freelancer to build a nice website.

Look, I never said the website was the greatest either nor is it the worst I've seen on the web by far. Its actually about average. Nothing more, nothing less, just average. My main problem is not what your saying at all it's with you, period. You're a troll that comes into this forum to do nothing but try to rip this game apart. I'm no huge fan of Darkfall's development either but I take the good with the bad. All you see is bad and it's gone to the point that I feel you are truly neurotic about it. What is it with you anyways? Did a Darkfall dev run over your puppy or something?
Others like Zorvan, Ghoul31, Kyleran and many more come into this forum and have negative views about Darkfall but they all also acknowledge the good points of Darkfall as well. You don't, you see only bad which tells me that you're either a neurotic crackpot or someone with an agenda. They also start threads or give comments about their concerns about the game in an intelligent coherent manner acknowledging the other side's viewpoint and offer their own counter viewpoints. You just Bash, Bash, Bash refusing to even acknowledge that there is a counter viewpoint and I for one have gotten sick to death of it. I mean seriously, what is this your 100th alt account? And you expect anyone to take anything you say seriously? Its laughable at best.
If this topic was being argued by anyone but you I may have actually debated it even if I do think its a null issue but because it is you it is not to be taken seriously and is easily dismissed.
