I'm downloading it and I'm pretty sure that it is, I'll be done in about 10 hours so if you haven't finished by then I can say.. If it isn't I'm not downloading again. Open BETA closes on 11th May anyway, so if the download takes 2 days its not worth it for 3 days play.
I`m installing the client from gamenode,not sure if its the right one though,it installs really slow but that could be my PC ,only got a opteron 2.0ghz dualcore with 2gig of pc3200 ram(400mhz ram)
Getting the Client from Age of Conan Downloader, it goes @ 80kb/s. Started yesterday at 03.00 am (GMT) and about 30 hours later, without turning off computer, i'm at 80% concluded...
OH THE PAIN! (my net can support speeds up to 500kb/s)
So... I got up this morning to see that my AoC client had finished downloading. I tried to install it and "Data Files are Corrupt"... 12.5gigs of download down the drain.
I went back to Fileplanet webpage do it all over again and they aren't even hosting the file anymore?
Anyone have a way to get the client besides fileplanet?
hmm,I cant start the game,update is ready but whenever I push the Play button I get this error report window and at background I see a dos screen with Asertian failed..
maybe its my PC or the client is not good..
Edit: the client from Gamenode is not working,I get a authentication failure at the second log in and on the top of the window it says general betaclient ,so dont wast your time downloading it:)
For those getting the Assertion Failed error on game startup do this :
Go to your IGN Beta Event install directory and delete these three files - shader.cache.temp , shader.cache.local and shader.cache. [do not run the patcher after completing this step, or the files will be replaced by the patcher]
5. Launch the client directly from the Age of Conan exe!
Everytime you run the patcher or successfully play the game, the cache files will be automatically replaced, and so you will have to delete them again before every gaming session or patch.
I play every game in Windowed Mode 1024x768 and the error still occured. Its happening to alot of players. If it does happen to you make sure you follow the above method - game runs brilliant

This really sucks, I got that Internode too and yeah it's the wrong one. I don't know if it's worth it tbh as i'm gonna be downloaded by the 8th fastest, all that time for just 2 days play...

Thats given me a glimmer of hope. I was lucky to get a key yesterday left my pc on over night and im still qued in file planet.
I started downloading that cleint from the torrent. 22% done and downloading at anything from 300kbs to 500kbs. Then noticed it was the general client and thought baaah im never gonna get to test it. Hopefully that fix works even tho theres 2 pages of people complaining it doesnt
I'll let u know how i get on when the clients finished downloading

I got that internode client downloaded and patched, but when I tried to login I kept getting a "Authentication failure" error. Seems this was the client for the General Beta not open, easy fix though..

FP sucks man,I had like 20kb per second:S!they are cheapass with there servers..
anyways I think the client from gamenode works,I had to login and after that the gameclient started to update.

o Age of Conan is really fun to play,cant wait to get my game which I had preordered!

Then it takes about 5 minutes to do some more patching and it works now!
