People like you are the dullest ever. Sure there is originallity in art. The artists personal touch? You can't say that everything is made before someone. Because, how do you know? Does your intellect and reasoning tell you this? Because i smell bullshit. Everything a person does, atleast in litterature and art that has meant something for the world. Wasn't just the paint and pages. It was the persons touch and thoughts.
So you honestly believe there was another Davinci, Goethe, michellangelo, gogh etc? That's just sad you know..
Ofc, that's what it's all about - personal touch.
I'm just getting tired of people saying "ripp off this", "clone that" which just shows that they don't have the tiniest clue on how creative process works.
Ofc there is originality in art (pardon me, entertainment) but all of it is built on the shoulders of artists before you. It all comes down to personal touches - that's what counts and not some shock value crap like "no one has thought of this before - look I can sell my shit in a can!". That's not creativity or professionalism - that's sensationalistic freak show.
What you do is build what you want to make by taking things that you like from the world around you (including similar creations that you love) and add a bit of your own way of looking at things. That's the way art works - the rest is pretty much a freak show scam led by the untalented or the lazy.

The "shit in a can thing" is real - done by an Italian artist in the 60s (now whatshisname...) That was cool - but as an ironic political statement on the impact of consumerism on art/culture. Though I understand its value as such I wouldn't really call it great art...

The guys you mention were all "rip offs" according to some posters on this forum. I mean they did use classical subjects, follow existing techniques up to a point and so on... I mean the Sistine chapel was done on comission and the psycho Borgia pope constantly buggered Michelangelo on what to put where and how. The personal touch and expertise is what matters and not "Look - I can make David out of horse dung! Look how original I am!"
OMG will these ppl who keep saying WAR is a WOW clone ever shut thier Fing mouth up. Im starting to wonder if they (who create these threads) are just trying to build up thier member status on this forum. They could be just plain jealous that this game might be successfuland thier game isnt or wont be...who knows.

Sorry WOW characters and faction Ideas are almost an exact copy of Warhammer table top games. Much of the MMO is a copy Of Dark Age Of Camelot (trust me I began playing MMO's with DAOC). I hope this game is good. I like playing WOW's almost anyone would agree it has the worst community of almost all MMOS. People are selfish, rude, and not very helpful. If you don’t believe me play DAOC, Everquest or EVE you will see what I mean.
