I'm curious as to what % out there are those true real " PVP All or nothing Hardcore players exist"
as well as the others that fall in between

Not sure where I figure on your list,I am going to roll pve but I am looking forward to siege's etc,I wont roll on a pvp as I like to enjoy the game and take in the sight's without the chance of some 5 man ganking group comming over the hill on a griefing mission.
edit-I see you added 1 that fits me nicely
If someone had came up to me in 1980 when I was on my Atari 2600 and said we will be playing games with thousands of people at the same time.I guess my response would have been,"but I only have 2 joysticks"

Only Ultima Online is consider hardcore, second Eve Online
Bump, I really wanna see some numbers on this. It seems like the Majority of vocal closed beta testers are of the Hardcore PVP and is this was the gauge Funcom used when working thru problems its no wonder it turned into a gank-fest
So far the Harcore no rule as is PVP is only 20%. If i'm in business to make a profit and I know putting grape jelly instread of strawberry jam on my Pb&J is gonna cost me 50% of my customers. Im gonna get some strawberry jam. Business can be that simple

truth is in this weekend finale, taditional non pvpers are becoming hardcore though natural evolution by sheer necessity
Tesso is a case in point, a small town that is almost permanently spawn camped. If you're lucky and have a good fast machine you can usually escape unscathed, otherwise you start mashing the hot keys as soon as it loads.
Real harcore pvp'er are around, not many mind, but they are the most organised.
PS conquerors can own rogues 1 on 1 but it's currently a 2-1 situation 90% of the time. Bear shamans are hard as nails damn them.
Toodles.
I'm a carebear, mostly due to time constraints. Everything takes a longer time to achieve when getting killed all the time and with a full time job and young children you sort of want all the gaming time you get to actually be gaming time, not recovering from death time!
Anyway, if Funcom would just provide an RP-PvE server they could very well cater to most peoples tastes.
You really should have separated the Hardcore PvP category from the asshat ganker one, in spite of protests to the contrary by the second group, I'd have to contend that they don't go together at all.
No man is an island, entire of itself; every man is a piece of the continent, a part of the main. any man's death diminishes me, because I am involved in mankind, and therefore never send to know for whom the bell tolls; it tolls for thee.

Shadowbane used to be pretty brutal since it was FFA pvp with looting of everything but equipped items, not sure anymore (you could even attack your own guild members if you pleased). I would not consider UO hardcore anymore. They quarantined that aspect of the game.
MMO Vet since AOL Neverwinter Nights circa 1992. My MMO beat up your MMO. =S
I've always considered myself a good PvPer and to certain point PvP is fun. Last night just showed me, maybe things are changing. I really enjoy more questing, grinding mobs and generally adventuring. Some PvP every now and then is a refreshing add but yesterday was a perfect example what happens if things go sh*tty.
Not being able to talk to NPCs or even be out of stealth 1 minute, man Hyboria is a rough place.
I know yesterday was pretty extreme setup, everyone is lvl 20 and start from same place and maybe people are just experiencing the game mechanics. In some point I gave up questing and thought "oh well, let's gank then." and after few hours I was done and full of the Hyboria's excitement.
Yes, I'll go with PvE and try to see what else Hyboria is than silly ganking.

Shadowbane is still hardcore. UO was not hardcore, it was a bunch of nude dudes on horses spamming fire blast. Shadowbane you could lose months.. years of work in one night.

Naaj. I disagreed with Shadowbane. For Ultima Online, well, it used to be hardcore, but not anymore. What can I say, nothing last forever.
I love to pvp but i couldnt even play yesterday. Up until yesterday the game didnt run great but it was playable for the most part with 30-40 fps a good portion of the time. Once I logged in yesterday I had way too much lag not to mention some bug with my graphics.
After getting disconnected repeatedly , I was finally able to stay logged in ran some quests in town at around 20-25 fps. The quests seemed fun and I finally found my way out of town to Tessel. Upon loading , I loaded under the docks ( bug Im figuring ) and Im getting attacked ....i was able to swim away down shore. I get on land, regen up at about 10 fps then make my way back to the town where i get ganked at my first quest turn in. I couldnt fight back .... then I couldnt even rez ( another bug). I log back in and my rez box is up, so I click it and continue on to my quest guy. I get ganked again and cant fight back for some reason ....cant rez again ...get pissed off and log out.
I think the game wll be great for anyone that can actually run it without technical problems. But I ran into too many and probably wont even get it since War will be out by the time this game works the glitches out. Oh and to remain on topic, I would say I love pvp almost anywhere at any time. But pvp with no consequences isnt hardcore ...its a joke.
SWG pvp rules had the best and most favorite for me. Enabled pvp modes allowed carebears and pvprs to do what they liked when they liked.
I'm a PvE specialist, my fave part of a gmae is the aoes, solo and mass mobbing techniques. But I like to have the opportunity to defend my territory, so I'm also PvP. I definitely fit the middle choice. However I do like to kill for kicks from time to time too
That is actually my favorite way to do pvp. It even let the ganker still enjoy himself . I still remember coming up on a rebel npc base and opening fire getting a tef while a real rebel player was hiding inside the base where you couldnt see him.... lol. And amazingly it didn't bother me too much.
I'm in the middle. I have no problem with FFA pvp when I'm in the mood for it. At other times I want to do other things and could care less.

Role Player. I love the Conan lore and world.
BOYCOTTING EA / ORIGIN going forward.
I'm the kind of player that makes a character and then gets a black screen. Fun times, I tell ya.
Gamer / Semi-Important Person / Definitely More Important Than You / Wanna Fight About It?
Now Playing: Games, More Games, A Few Games You Don't Play, Do You Really Care What I Play?
The kind of player that doesn't play with xbox people.
I like to explore, when all others are running around ganking eachother, i rather try to find a nice quiet spot,
or a nice view, i can SS.
I kinda fit in the middle. There are times I really enjoy full FFA PvP and there are times where I don't want to deal with it and just want to level my character in peace.
I'm a carebear at heart, I won't deny it. But being a carebear does not say I will not PvP nor does it say I have no skill at it (I'm a 1.5 year Shadowbane vet ), it simply means that I don't go looking for it.
