Xira has some really valid points. And if everyone came on and sucked the dev's off, no new ideas would ever get started. The boards would become pointless. However, this game r0x, and giving up on it would be bullshit. Granted, coriko or spiceant's ability to rape a colony is un-contested, it is not hopeless. Build it right and it wouldn't be worth it to come for you, Whats that? You want the magic stragegy, you want Allah to miracle your asses to happiness? Life sucks for you. If i didn't have a 10-hour a day job, a life, and a Diablo 2 wrist injury from battle.net, I'm sure I could own. But I already get my shits and giggles from the game. What do i do when my ass is handed to me in consecutive servings? I wait for the game to respawn and start over. I am up against an interactive and dynamic environment. I'm not going to make punk bitches suck it down on the first shot. That would not make victory fun.
Geez guys, you get something that you dont have to pay for, and you whine and moan about this and that. THIS IS A FREE GAME! That means people are putting in lots of time, and getting little money for thier efforts. Sure Starport is going to draw griefers, but it also draws people that will stand up to griefers (remember the battle for sirius on the battle royale server?) Things like that make Starport great, the ability to "choose your destiny". Is it a little unbalanced? Yes. Are they working on it? Yes. From what i have learned, escape pods cannot land on colonized planets anymore. If its true, then colony invasions got a little toughter. Now they have added more stregnth to the turrets, making those turrets harder to kill, and making invasions even harder.
Instead of complaining, offer some suggetsions and ideas to make the game better. There is a whole forum deticated for that purpose. Maybe if its within reason, they might think it over, and maybe impliment your idea/suggestion. If all you are going to do is bitch, complain and whine, then find another game. Believe me when I say the people who like this game dont want to hear it, and the developers DEFINATELY dont want to hear it.
By the way................. posting links to other games on the forums (even if they asked for it) is a slap in the face to the develpoers of starport......... at least have the decency to e-mail it to them. If I was starport admin, you'd be banned from this board and the game............. but thats just my views
Exactly! There is totally no respect for Starport! This is a FREE inovative game with lot's of cool features. But nobody seems to have some RESPECT! It really pisses me of when i see that people play the game for a few hours and just say it sucks. How can you know? I have been playing the game for about 2 months now and I'm still bumping in to some new things. The concept behind Starport is perfect. Ok, there are some problems. BUT WHY WOULD THE DEVELOPERS TRY TO IMPROVE IF NOBODY TRIES THE GAME PROPERLY! Also the gamers can help the game! By just spreading the word that Starport is worth a litlle effort. And by building a real Starport community. This can really help a game. I tried to start this proces by making a site for noobs and to introduce my corp... But really nobody seems interested. Visit the Starport fan-site at http://blastacor.tripod.com. Altough everybody is always complaining that newbies ask to much in-game...
Starport could rise above all with the help of the players... Or it could die sadly also thanks to the players...
