please help me, the game won't start for me!!

in Age of Conan: Unchained

i have posted this before, but someone said it was my graphic card issue. so i bought a new graphic card. NX8600gt ez512

i have intel premium 4 dual core 2.8ghz. 3g ram

after i click "i accept" the game won't start, it shows running in the task bar, but it just don't start.

anyone have this issue??? please help me.

    Look for the conanpatcher.exe in your funcom folder. Start the game from there and see if it works.

    ok i will try that when i get home then.

    but i don't think it'll work though, because i have downloaded all the patches and its after i click "play" and "i accept" then nothing happens. i don't think its anything to do with patch.

    do you know any other options i should try if it doesnt work?

    Check the forums at age of conan.com to see if there are any tweaks you may need to make.

    I had an issue when I first installed the game, Im not sure if its the same.  But when I was at the patcher and clicked play, it would run and I could hear the music but it wasnt working.  I unlicked full screen on the settings tab, and started it again.  It ran in a windowed verison.  Then I closed it and clicked full screen again, and then the game worked fine afterwards, not sure if this is your problem but it happened to me and my card was fine.

    So does nothing open at all? No flickering screen, nothing to close with ctrl+alt+delete, nothing whatsoever? If flickering i can advise a fix that i've just used to fix my game starting problems ;)

    Make sure youre graphics drivers are up to date.   You may want to try reinstalling the game, could be corrupt files.

    Unfortunately if you're in the EU, you wont' be able to do much because the servers are now down for 5 hours.  You won't even be able to try adjusting the settings.

    You might want to make sure that all your folders and filed are in the correct directory and your using the right shortcuts.  I know that its stupid to say the obvious but sometimes people make small mistakes like that.  You can also try support at the main website if its still not working, or try to reinstall or download all the updates for drivers/cards etc.

    no i do have the paching screen its after i click "i accept" then nothing comes up. but age of conan does show running at the task bar, but the game just don't pop up and no music too.

    and my graphic card is up to date.

    Ah hmmmm. Does it just not respond when you try to close? Or is it easily closed and then restarted?

    Same here really - i'm just looking for anything obvious that might be causing the crashes. How long have you had this new card. Are you sure you've entirely removed all drivers from your old card?

    OK..silly questions time.....

    1)  OP, are you using a router?  Do you successfully play other MMO's?

    2) Have you got all the latest Vista updates?  Because AoC likes to flash a warning that you don't have Vista's SP1 pack if you haven't.   It could simply be that the patcher is trying to prompt you to download them, but for some reason is failing to do so.

    3)  Right click on the Age of Conan shortcut that is on your desktop and select "Run As Administrator".  It could be Vista's "User Account Control" playing silly sods (which you can switch off if you need to by going into the User Accounts section of the Control Panel and removing the tick from "Enable User Account Control").

    Just a long shot but have you tried rolling back your Graphics Drivers to the older version ? I was having issues with the latest Nvidia Drivers and rolled back to the previous drivers and everything s been fine since.

    But it could also be the opposite and you may need the latest drivers.

    i just bought the card yesterday, but i did update it online, and in the system theres only 1 graphic card driver shows up. i can't find the old one really.

    No not the same as your problem but I kept getting just black screens and loads of flickering on the Menu screens, just tought it might help tho , real sorry to hear your having these probs too hope you get it sorted soon .

    ctrl alt delete, task manager- end process for all virus progs and firewall progs. its worth a go.  turn off windows firewall too.
