Don't ever call WoW players immature ...

Nothing I have ever experienced - not in 3.5 years of WoW PvP servers, nor 1 year of FFXI, nor 2 years of pre-nerf PvP UO - can compare to the blatant immaturity in AoC PvP.
White sands Isle ... very cool zone ... Lots of quests to do ... Good fun! Right?
Well yes. Until I get ganked by a L24 naked girl. No problem ... respawn and start again.
A minute later I get a tell from her. "LOL Here I com again!"
And I get ganked again.
"You really suck!!!!!!!!" she says.
While this one example isn't typical - it definitely stuck out the most - the game is pretty much an immature PvP gankfest. Topless girls. Spawn camping. Nasty gank whispers. Abbreviations (which people frequently refer to as w0w-sp33k, which of course as some people fail to realize has been around since LONGGGGG before WoW). Etc.
This has me trying to convince my friends to do something that I never thought I would ever do ... Reroll PvE.
I feel crappy just saying that. I love this game (so far, not made my final judgment yet) but I just can't stand the blatantly immature, opportunistic and straight out rudeness of the PvP community.
So many people dis the WoW community, which does have it's share of nasty kids, but so does RL. . . It's just life. I don't know. WoW never, ever, for a second, made me feel like rerolling PvE.

Im so glad I never play on pvp servers. lol Pve has its share, but its generally not as bad as pvp.
Problem i see is Pve servers do not have guilds the size of Pvp servers as i result i do not know of sieges will even work out there. I am betting that couple super guilds are gonna take over some keeps in Set and so on which no one is gonna challenge.
Once again, I play on RP servers for a reason - 90% of PvP People = nothx. For some reason, PvP competition BREEDS @holes.... and I just don't want them in my world.
So far the community on Wiccana has been fine / mature. I've even rp'd a few times now, once with a level 20 when I was only level 7 hehe.
BOYCOTTING EA / ORIGIN going forward.
The funny thing is that most of those gankers I talk to came from WoW. I play on a PVE server as my main but I logged onto Tyranny to see what all the fuss was about and sure enough got ganked a bunch. Their response when asked what game they came from was always WoW.

I figured this would be a problem with this game.
The Mature label, the digital boobies, and open PVP just screams for the immature crowd to flock to this game. Kinda wish I would have been wrong cause I was starting to consider playing.
I know I could roll on a PvE server, however, why should I change my gameplay style because of the immaturity of the player base.
Good luck to everyone in this game, I hope the "newness" wears off and most of the troublemakers get bored and leave you all to the enjoyable game that there is.

WoW opened MMO's up to alot of people. However, even if they hadnt came from WoW what's the easiest way to get shrugged off from the way you are acting and have people just say "oh, that figures..." Just say you played Wow.
For whatever reason WoW = Immaturity in most peoples minds. And in some cases this is true. However, not the be all end all.
And in cases like this, WoW now provides some form of security blanket for acting like an ass. Act like a jerk and when confronted just respond "I use to play WoW"

I just don't know how you people can roll on a pvp server and not expect a gankfest. The only difference between wow pvp servers and aoc pvp servers is that aoc is ffa, thus exposing you to the gank much quicker and giving you the ability to converse with your attacker. Make no bones about it, if you could have talked to your attacker in wow you'd be in the same exact boat. I've been ganked plenty of times in wow, not to mention corpse camped by the other faction, so this kind of stuff just doesn't bother me. It is obvious that none of you have the patience to deal with a pvp server and should have never rolled on one in the first place.
That being said, they do need to resolve the rez point camping. Spawning with 10 health and being killed before you're loaded is obviously not very fun for most people. I won't argue with this. If it were up to me, I'd say rez at full health and a 10 second invulnerability shield. That would get rid of 75%+ of the complaints.

Where do you think the AoC community is coming from? Is it not obvious? Do I have to tell you, or are you smart enough to figure that out by yourself?
I'm in a guild on Cimmeria. And every person we have is very mature. Only 30 some people, but I have never once heard or seen. OMG, Haxxor! I raped your mom! LOL, you are a noob!.. none of that crap. It all depends on who you hang with. In any game, you will get immature people. Just like in life. You will come across those people.
PvP is about competition, and it just makes it so much better when you can make that ass look stupid by killing him/her over and over again to pay them back.
BTW. my guild is Death and Dishonor. I'm very happy there. Very active members so far.

sure, obviously I dont pvp. I have never pvped in my life, not been ganked. Get off your high horse and try reading comprehension. Since I started playing MMO's I have rolled PvP servers.
PvP is not about ganking people much lower then you. It is about fighting another player for a CHALLENGE. Something the ganking brats of today dont understand.

Indeed, dealing with kids takes a lot of patience. Most people would not like to have to deal with that in-game, because they have to deal with it in real life, which is why PvE servers usually have higher populations.
That having been said, I'm a PvPer, but I don't gank/grief without reason.
This is a sequence of characters intended to produce some profound mental effect, but it has failed.

there is the option of going to the new pvp rule set, culture, making it non FFA, this would allow you a bit more breathing room. i havent played on this server yet, but i might try it out. im on a PvE server, only cuz the friends im playing with cant pvp for crap....
It is the game that most closely matches what they enjoyed out of SB, the open PvP, the city building, and the seiges of said cities.
I contest that most WoW players are immature. I am a WoW Player, and an ex SB player, and just about everyone I met in the different guilds I've been in were very mature individuals. Every game has its asshats and AoC is no different in that department.
If you want to stay away from immature attitudes and behavior, I suggest you stop playing MMORPGs... there is no escaping them no matter where you go or what game you play.

On Bane Culture server there is a general unspoken rule of common decency.. except with most Stygians. Also there is a degree of roleplay that is inspired by the rule set. I had ONE encounter with a typical pvp asshat, and yup, they were a woman, played by a man named Terribles who was ganking lower players.
One of the local cimmerians warned me she was doing so and I chased her down, 'she' leapt from a bridge to avoid me, probably thinking a big dumb barbarian would follow! HA! no such luck, I laughed from my mountain! Then I was at the potions master and she starts wailing in on me, trying to kill me. I destroyed her without a second thought, that's when they start sending nasty tells.
At first I replied, "Crom laughs at you." and there was a huge pause, followed by, "OMG! Wrong server you f*cking nerd!" and then I told her why I killed her and she starts boasting yeah, they gank and theyre going to gank alot. And proceeded to call me faggot, loser, etc etc. my reply had been, "I am a barbarian and you are just a little girlie girl, probably not even female really, yah!" and apparently they have issues with sexuality becuase they get very defensive with, "Noone wants to stare at guy ass All DAY!!!!!!!!!11! God youre a fgt!" at this point I was highly amused and sent them packing with, "You pretend to be a woman, and gank defensless people for fun.. and they say I have shit for honor. Bye bye Suzy, Ill be sure to spank you later *pats his bloodied sword*"
Instant problem solved! They never bothered me again. I swear, the age limit isnt stopping some!

I couldn't agree with the OP more.
AoC has to be the most immature playerbase I have ever played in all my MMO life. Makes WoW look very mature.

And what did you expect? In a FFA pvp environment with very little rules, the jerks and anit-social rule. Same thing in FPS games too, where a lot of these people first started playing, once you have friends and a guild it'll become easier. You can organize a group to stomp the kiddies and keep stomping them till they either log or cry. I stay away from those servers, because I don't like dealing with that crap it doesn't make me "stronger", just makes me feel I should spend my time doing something more worthwhile.
Doesn't this game have a karma system like Lineage 2 and other PK games.

Besides that the term gank would be more appropriate if there were say 5 or more naked girls attacking you at the same time and you only said one so really you just got killed and not ganked. Now spawn camping not withstanding if you loose one on one to anybody it is entirely your fault.

I'm a WoW player. I mastered the original UO sandbox. You really think WoW players, some of which are at the bleeding edge of what is undeniably among the hardest MMO content in existence, would be "out of their element" in Darkfall?
You hate WoW because you didn't get it. You make fun of the players because you need SOMETHING to make fun of. I'm 27, a professional, and a gamer at heart. I can tell you that there are a lot of players just like me in the game. We're as good as you - or better. Don't worry. Say whatever you like as long as you feel good inside!

That's NOT a negative review toward the "game" AOC. This is the type of low class morons you get whenever you have FFA PVP in ANY game.
I'm not sure where they come from, and how they grow up in real life, but the "type" of person attracted to FFA PVP leaves a great deal to be desired for the most part. Sure, there are legitimate decent folk who like this style of play, but they are far and away outshadowed by the low-lifes of our society.
It's the number one reason why FFA PVP games don't attract large populations. It's not the standard, "they are carebears" rationality. A lot of folks would enjoy this style of play, if it were not for the morons who get their joy at ruining other's people's fun.
I LOVE to PVP but whenever I sign up on an FFA PVP server, I end up asking myself, why did I bother?
For now I'm playing on a PVE server and the game is fun. I work hard for a living, and don't need to associate with idiots on my time off.
