If you tone the graphics WAY down, it might be playable. Might.

Dont see it happening really. But I did notice that it would take a 3rd of your hard drive. Not sure the game would start up though at that spec.

the computer itself barely starts up, but it seems to play CS:S pretty well...

I think if you tried to play AoC with that the laptop would rattle around on your desk, take off and blow up mid air. I just can't see that happening.

If you click on the icon your laptop would probably just lock up

Here is something to throw out there:

Would these specs make enough a difference for it to be playable?

Yeah i'd think that new setup would be fine with running it. I myself am using a:

1.8 Dual core overclocked to 2.4

    2gb ddr2Dominator ram

    120gb external HD

    9600GT 1gb ddr3 memory

And it runs on max all settings at 50 fps. So i'd think you could comfortably fit in the mid catagory with that.

Main problem here is going to be the GPU. Intel integrated graphics are barely good enough to run WoW at an acceptable FPS, so AoC is going to suffer a lot. With this setup you MIGHT be able to get the gaming running on low, with a low resolution, but as far as FPS goes don't expect much at all. If you really want to play AoC I would suggestion building yourself a desktop, it will cost less and be able to handle AoC fine.

heh, dont give the guy false hopes. Your setup is very different from what he linked, especially when it comes to the GPU.

You can either run it through boot camp, or load Vista on an Intel mac and run it that way. From what I hear it runs surprisingly well under Vista on a mac, but you have to have a decent video card for it to do so.

Spec is good but lets be realistic, your graphics card sucks, and that plays a huge role in framerates and flow of the game.

I'm sure you will be able to play it if you tone the graphics way down but it is a pretty good restraint for performance.

Probably because your using an 8500GT. Those cards are pretty aweful, and if you pair that card with a high resolution that could explain your low FPS.

I'm using an ATI Radeon X1600 and soon 4GB of RAM, will this be able to play AoC with a decent fps at a low setting?
