White Lion Confirmed as last HE class, customisable lion pets.

http://www.warhammeralliance.com/forums/showthread.php?t=37877

~Apparantly there is an article on Gamespot but i could not see it, anyways that link contains the mastery paths aswell and concept art for the lion.

The White lion is a Melee DPS pet career.

Looks brilliant, i might make one of these my main instead of a Witch Hunter.

Sounds fun if that is indeed the final class.  All of the HE classes sound enjoyable...just not as enjoyable as alot of the Destruction classes.

Until you cancel your subscription, you are only helping to continue the cycle of mediocrity.

I could have sworn someone said the same about the Shadow warriors as well. I guess all the elven classes will be. Good thing I'm gonna be an elf!

I actually disagree with whoever made that statemant, maybe popular yes but the upsides of this class are aimed at magic using enemies, which will probably make easy targets for non magic users.

I finally get my true pet class. Hopefully it won't be like WoWs huntards.

I just finished reading the newsletter. I am a very happy camper. This will be my main class. I'll will make three so I can have one for each mastery path. I really am now more than ever looking forward to this game's release date.

Guild Wars 2 is my religion

Well, I just finished the newsletter, and initially I was stoked about the class, and pumped that I found my main. But as I thought about it, there are some concerns I have. Though they may be unfounded, and probably won't be answered til release.

    1.  Will the WL be confined to axes, or can they use other weapons as well. I've always been more fo a swords cat myself.

    2. More importantly, the WL sounded a bit like a WoW Hunter...and that's not ok. They were so dull to me, and EVERYONE was/is a Hunter. It would just kill me if such a badass class became the Hunter of WAR. But one of the reasons they were dull is because of ranged combat, and WL is def. not ranged.

As I said, they may be totally unfounded, and the Helf White Lion may end up being the most badass class ever with a name that reaks of 80's hair metal to boot.

One thing I noticed is the fact that you won't have any choices of pets or anything, simply a limited customizable Lion.  How lame is that, you people cry about how much you hate WoW hunters, but you didn't get a free pet and were not constrained to 1 pet either.  You went out and tamed your own pet and made it your own.  The Hunter in WAR isn't what I would even call a true pet class, as you simply level, get your Lion and have very few options to customize it to how you want it to look.

Matter of fact, most of WAR is this way, you have very few options to customize your characters with items and it appears they want to go the trend of most Asian type games and everyone will basically look alike with very few changes.  Great game there.

Next stop on the misinformed train...rshandion post...are you serious?!?! There is alot of customization in this game! You can dye various parts of your armor, they stated that they are planning to make mounts customizable, and for the most part all the pets in WoW look the same. Most hunters I knew all had similar or the same pets. You should really read about a game before you go and make up some assumptions. There are more customization options but NDA holds my tongue. You should really read more about this game if you are interested otherwise...lay off the misinformation pipe bud.

    Cheers!

Many people find the idea of a permanent pet that grows with you to be very appealing.

In essence WoW pets grow with you as well as their size increases as you level, although it's not as visual as the WAr version of course.

I kinda agree with him though, I like being able to pick my own pet rather than being stuck with a single choice. That said, It wouldn't fit the class at all, so alas ^^

Don't forget trophies!  You can wear up to 5 trophies in 15 different places per armor set.   They're going all out for customization.  The only way you'll look exactly like a clone is if you don't dye your armor and you don't wear any trophies.

I appreciate what is being said, but as you rightly close your post with... A White Lion with a purple bear pet wouldn't be quite right...

The WL isn't your WoW hunter. Mythic is also sticking to the lore of Warhammer, unlike Blizzard who magically sprouted draeni from a crashed spaceship. In the end most hunters in WoW use the same pet for PvP and in PvE(raid settings) pet is useless. Also, the hunter is reduced to just being a marksman...not a hunter.

The lore behind the WL, which I just read, is really cool imo. I don't plan on rolling this as my first toon, but it seems like a cool idea to get a pet from the get go and what better than a giant white lion? Also, I love the fact that the WL is a melee dps class. I always wanted to melee as a hunter in WoW, but was pointless and useless...which is why I never got past lvl50 with mine.

Normally I really hate pet classes!  Having to deal with another char at my side was never much fun!  This however has changed my outlook and I do want to try it someday, however I'm starting on Destruction Realm so its gonna have to wait for awhile!

I do love that idea of having a baby lion to start with and you basically raise it from a cub to a full grown adult lion over the course of the game!

Since WoW has been mentioned once again to compare this game...blah guess I'll use it too....this is nothing like WoW where you have to wait until lvl 10 before u can get a basic boring pet you'll never keep because ultimately there are so many worthless pets in WoW that everyone near end-game has the same good ones!  Like for instance before Lupos' shadow dmg was removed/reduced whatever I forget!  Everyone that could find him had him because he was the best pet in the game.

  • Another illustrated video.

Is this game ever going to be released ?

At this point Mythic should have real screenshots, in-game video etc of the new whitelion class.

WAR will not come out in Q4 2008. It's still far from complete. BUT it will probably come out, no doubt.

    Just not in 2008 :(

The game world is built and ready to go!  This year  has basically been heavy testing of all the classes and making sure they're all balanced well, and final testing of some of the areas and City Sieging!
