So I was watching the gamespot review, I cannot believe that this guy gets paid to write a blatant fanboi review. This game did not deserve an 8.5, maybe at best a 6.5. The pictures below are the ACTUAL words while the video in the background was playing. Before you begin to flame me, I am a funcom fanboi myself. I friggin love AO and Dreamfall ( yeah sorry). I have never been more disappointed with an mmo ( cept maybe horizons) as I am with this game.
C'mon, are you serious?. Are people really that blind and cant get over the graphics that the rest of the games flaws are just invisible to them?. Nothing else is good about the game EXCEPT the graphics... I really do not understand. Anyone else feel this way?

Ummm, yea OK. The fact that you have time to worry about this is beyond me, and thats quite the shoddy photoshop job there.
Actually to be honest the games big appeal is supposed to be the combat style...which i dont care for. Here is an idea. Anyone else play Jedi Knight, Jedi Academy? Remember how you only had that one swing button but depending on how you moved your character when swinging determined how you swung your lightsaber etc... recall how fun that game was how amazingly real and acrobatic and smooth the combat felt, even with a keyboard you just felt like you were swinging a lightsaber...and dammit when you landed a good solid clean kill you were like Fu*@ ya!!! Im badass jedi!!! Why do we depend on the button clicking when there has already been a game that showed a more fluid and involving combat system?
....erm all i can say is wow....bullied much growing up?
The thing that you guys don't get is that this game is going to be great in a month or two, yes they did release to early and they have gotten all the fire they deserve. You also don't understand that there are more things at work here then you think. the people funding AoC was pressing for release after all the delays. give them a break, they are working out all there problems and this game has a great future.
I would have recommended buying one of these before posting here.
Sorry but your going to get AoC fanboid out of existence for bringing a bug to someones attention.
(edit: Regardless, floating swords are always fun )
STOP WHINING!
Don't know why the OP is getting bashed. There is nothing wrong with pointing out flaws in a gamespot's employee review. He's just paying attention to detail. I noticed those same things the first time I watched the review. He mentioned the bugs as something minor and only lightly touches the problems the game has, but goes into the more detail with things good about the game.
You're talking about two different animals there, Obi Wannabe. AoC is a MMORPG and the combat system it uses is meant to engage the player and get them more involved in the gameplay, which it does very well in my opinion. Although it's not the most innovative combat system of any game, it is the most innovative for games in its genre. Jedi Knight has a combat system that is designed for one player and while it is good, it doesn't seem like it would apply well to MMORPGs that have several classes and players who are looking for different play styles.
I find this game to be great so far in terms of story, graphical presentation, combat, and in community. Community, as in any MMO, is the most important, and often the most underrated, aspect of this type of game (without communities, MMOs are just weak single player games). Although AoC currently has its share of asses, for the most part, the community has been great. The game is missing a few things that I was expecting, but the pros far outweigh the cons so far for me, and a new MMORPG missing a few things is nothing new to the genre. MMORPGs are never finished and they are adding/fixing things quite quickly since release.
This game is great for some, and bad for others. That's the bottom line (for any game really). I recommend to all reading: give it a try and see for yourself before taking the advice of any poster on these forums (myself included).
Don't you know IGN gamespot etc the major game sites are getting paid to review games? the more the developers pays them the higher the score they going to gave to a game regardless how good the game actually is.

He also says:
"Bear in mind however that Age of Conan: Hyborian adventures has a good number of technical problems, both on the client side and on the server side."
I'm so broke. I can't even pay attention.
