Warhammer Lore.

Just a speculative post here really. It would be so nice to see some of the famous/infamous characters from the books make an appearance in this game.

I'm currently nearing the end of the Genevieve books (includes Draconfels). Since she is often based in Altdorf I think there should be a large probability of encountering the vamp in a certain tavern.

Someone already mentioned Malus Darkblade in another post, who knows maybe we'll run into Gortrek and Felix in our travels.

Anyone with more knowledge on warhammer lore have anything to add to this speculative post?

It would be nice to see all the major characters from the lore make an appearance!  If it possible, I'm sure GW and Mythic would be willing to do that!

Yes having characters from lore is a very very effective way of immersing you in the game's lore...especially if you know what the hell that character did! I've heard the capital cities are huge and have lots of life and detail (well Altdorf and the Inevitable City anyways) so there's a good chance Mythic will slip a few lore characters in there. If not now, then later. Would be great if I could do quests for them.

A human and an Elf get captured by Skaven. The rat-men are getting ready to shoot the first hostage with Dwarf-made guns when he yells, "Earthquake!" The naturally nervous Skaven run and hide from the imaginary threat. He escapes. The Skaven regroup and bring out the Elf. Being very smart, the Elf has figured out what to do. When the Skaven get ready to shoot, the Elf, in order to scare them, yells, "Fire!"

There are some quirky real life parallels in the books i have been reading such as :-

Harald kleindeinst (aka "Filthy Harald") chief of the city watch.

Countess Emmanuelle ( soft core erotic movie reference).

Also we know as fact that Karl-Franz will be in the game. Since he is the final boss to kill should chaos get to sack the city of Altdorf.

On a side note the fact that I have read a fair bit about the empire now its kind of influencing me to roll order. I'll probably switch sides once I have at least one maxed out toon.

Gotrek and Felix are in it. There were shots of them a newsletter or two back.

From what I've read, most mayor characters will pop up in the game, some as Gotrek and Felix will only appear once your capitol reaches its maximum rank. Other wil be around mos of the time like the various Kings.

This stuff is already in the game. As you may or may not know, you can level your capital city through your RvR efforts. As your city levels, important heroes and individuals from the Lore will begin to show up in it. So far we know that Gotrek and Felix are already in, so if you're Empire, once Altdorf (the Empire capital city) is high enough level they'll make an appearance in the city, and will likely have quests associated with them. In addition, if your city is invaded during this time, the invaders can fight these hero NPCs for loot.
