The ‘I have a dream foundation’ was formed in Dallas to ensure education opportunities to children coming from low income areas. The foundation empowers children in low-income communities to achieve higher education by providing them with tuition support and equipping them with the skills and knowledge to gain entry to college. The foundation has a long-term, comprehensive approach which is driven by the goal of college matriculation.
In Dallas, the ‘I have a Dream’ foundation was started by Bill and Late Elaine Farrell with the help of the foundation’s founder, Eugene Lang. Ever since, the foundation has enabled millions of students to graduate with top honors from the college. The first class of almost 1,000 sixth grade ‘Dallas Dreamers’ was adopted in May 1987, making Dallas the first city outside of New York to start an ‘I Have a Dream’ Foundation program. The adoption of a second class of 1,000 ‘Dreamers’ was in 1988.
The foundation holds a number of events to help these children grow and learn. These events enable the kids in building their confidence, enhancing their creativity and equipping them with the useful skills that help them to be competent in every sphere of life. The past events of the foundation include The Dreamers' Dreamy Christmas 2007, Kaboom playground construction, State of the African American Male Summit etc. among many others. All these events are organized by the foundation under the guidance of its board members. IHAD-Dallas has many dignitaries in its board of directors which includes David Disiere of the Deep South Surplus of Texas, Helen M. Dorsey, Dr. Pepper/Seven Up Inc. James W. Loose Galloway-James Inc. and others

ok.
I hope some day we can all put aside our racisms and prejudices and just laugh at people
So uhh, what are we discussing?
I think Virginia has a good approach to education. After moving to California from Virginia, I realized California schools are 4 years behind schools in Virginia. One particular part that I think makes the difference is teacher attittude. In California teachers try to achieve the minimum with all its students, and don't promote alternative activities while having little clubs, and sports. In Virginia, you have teachers who go above and beyond the curriculum if the students are far enough. They also have alternative education like Signet as well as many school clubs, sports, and associations. Also parents don't seem to want to push thier kids much hear like with scouts and sports.
