Yeah, its working out well. Getting new people every couple of days it seems. As for screenshots, I haven't really taken any. But not much has changed as far as mechanics. Some new armor, new race, better weapons. We're still all pretty low level, as we're all relying on each other for buffs and items, but we're planning on getting together and doing some quests very soon. Lowbie quests that were classic...Hamud's Katar, focusing stone, atlan stones, that kind of thing. We spend alot of time sitting around and chatting too...which takes from our leveling speed
I would say just grab a trial and come check the game out. It's really fun again. Just having others to run around with that aren't 300 levels above you makes a big difference.
I've been trying to upkeep our members list. If you wanna swing by and try the game, check the members roster:
After reading this thread, decided to give the game a try, havent played in like 3 years. Register for the trial, downloaded the client and ...... found out AC don't work with Vista. Check out the forum about the patching error i'm getting only to find out a dev saying they have NO plan on fixing the compatibility issues with Vista.

What problem are you having? I thought many people ran AC just fine under Vista. Maybe someone on these forums can help with the issue or a workaround.

I just put together a new computer and put vista on it. Have you tried right clicking the exe and changing the compatibility from vista to XPSP2, then clicking on "run program as administrator"?
I have only had one game not work when doing this and that is the multi player function for COD4. but It has something to do with vista and my sound card which I have no idea how to fix. But I have a lot of mid-late 90s games on this PC and several 2003 games that are said not to work on vista but they run fine.
Downloading the trial to see if this works with it. May give it a run since I have nothing to play, already quit AoC and have been sitting on SB with a guild I do not like.
Seems lot I'm hearing of alot of people not as happy with AoC as should be expected. It's unfortunate, as alot of time and effort went into it...as did a lot of hype.
In any case, everyone that played this game back in the day know what it has to offer, so it's always something nice people can fall back to when they can't seem to find a game to fill that mmorpg void.
We've been getting new members literally every 1-2 days. Things are hopping and it's great fun. We now have our own little villa, and will be working on a mansion over the coming month (damn those golden gromnies).
Still plenty of room for anyone that is missing the game and wants to play old school, with all the pain and vitae that comes along with it.
I have a question maybe some of you know. Do you still have to go to all of the low level dungeons to get the key that spawns to save later for doing the SOLL quest (sword of lost light)?
That was the highlight of the game for me experiencing that dungeon and going for that sword.
Hey. I'm DEFINITELY down for this. I've been looking for a group like this for a while now, I'm glad it seems to be doing so well. I downloaded DoT last night and will activate my free trial tonight Any players in particular looking for a vassal? Is anyone let down by the game so far, not as awesome as they remembered? I got my hopes REAL high right now. haha
Of course, you can always stop by with a trial and see how things are going. We're still getting 1-2 members to the forums every day or two. The idea is spreading like wildfire, so you should be able to find us in game. Alot of people have just been asking for Kat Max's allegiance over general chat, instead of trying to find individual people. Which is understandable...it's much easier and it's hit or miss who's online or not.
Like most of us old school mmorpgers, we have grown up a bit and have many more responsibilities in real life now, so it's very casual gaming for most of us. We have a few hard core guys that are on most of the day, and they're always up for anything (i.e. quests, leveling, anything really).
ya I would love to join to, i already brought my account back and created a new char of FF his name is Majes. Hope to see ya guys soon, im going to be on and off all night tonight.
Ive been thru AOC once...DAOC (twice)....WOW.....Shadowbane (bout 5 times..cause its free)....LOTRO (trial)...COH/COV (trial)..Everquest2....FFXI (friend wanted me to try this pos)....HGL...LIN2(Trial).... and none of the above have ever came close to doing what AC did for me,sure all of the above provide thrills like wining a roll for an epic sword or the feeling of accomplishment from hiting rr6 in DAOC and even some PvP excitement in shadowbane or even wow...But no game has ever replaced the feeling you get when you kill someone and loot something they workd hard to get or when being chased by a 3 man grp that are trying to kill you for a chance at looting something you may have workd hard to get (excluding DI's), The char customization is 2nd to none with true freedom in what ever you like to spec,The world of Dereth itself is massive and the content PvE wise is endless...sure the game isnt the same as it was back when i first played it,the population has taken a hit and the graphics look ....Bad...but its still the same game at its core and imho the best pvp game i have ever experienced so im gonna resub today and reroll a new toon on DT...If you like Pvp with consequences and politics i strongly urge you to give it a shot, i know its a bit hardcore for many but for those looking for a challenge Surviving DT imo is easily the biggest challenge ive ever faced in a mmo.
I wouldn't call myself a "Returner" as when I last played (1999-2000?) I only lasted like 1 week.
That being said, I'm downloading the trial right now. What server should I get on and whom should I contact?
Edit: I went to your website and read a post titled "new rule.... never more than 3 on at any one time". Based on what I read there, there is no reason for me to join you guys. You've got drama and you don't even have people.
