XPFTW - Legit?

I saw this ad for a site called XPFTW.com (at least i think thats the URL, google it if im wrong) on a banner.  The gimmick is, you somehow earn EXP by posting on the forums or agreeing to offers and you trade that EXP in for free game time/cash shop money.  Like, 24,000 EXP gets you 30 days of CoX, or Everquest, or 20,000 Nexon Cash Shop bucks.  Idk, does it seem legit?  it seems too good to be true IMO, but idk.

For what i understand, you gain XP by clicking/visiting on certain sites/links.

If so, it's just a diferent aproach of the "pay to click/visit" marketing.

In the end, if they "give" you something, means you "made" them more cash then the worth of what they gave you.

Now, if they are serious about the stuff, i dont know.

Hi, I am known as Tastee on XpFTW  In answer to your question, yes we are real.

In response to the recent ad push on this site we gave out:

L$1000 in Second Life (2 different people)

3 Tabula Rasa 30 Day Play NC Codes

    1 COH 30 Day Code

    2 Vanguard 30 Day Codes

    So far....

Most of these people got their code/L$ pretty quickly.

One guy got his Vanguard code really fast (surprised us actually)

He signed up 5/25 13:05 MST, completed 16 offers and requested his code by 5/25 17:45 MST (4 hours and 40 minutes)  I would hope he wasn't just on our site the whole time, but he might have been.  He never bothered to stop by the Live Chat, so none of us have talked to him.  I personally handled his game code email (it went out 11 minutes later at 5/25 17:56 MST)

If you want I can post which offers he did (I can't post his name, or user account details cuz that would be against our privacy policy)

PS. Feel free to stop by the live chat on the site, but I can't alway promise someone will be there, usually there is someone though.

Hopefully this answers any questions to if we are real and actually give out game codes and so on.

Some of them yeah.  Let me do a quick query....

96 Free offers in the US

48 US Offers that you have to spend $$ to get XP.

On the GetXP page you can filter out free vs non free, which ones require a credit card, etc..

We usually add at least 1 or 2 free offers per weekday.

One thing I have learned in my 62 years is nothing is free.  I wonder how much spyware gets on your computer from the sites and such you visit.

Sorry to be so cynical but that how it goes.

He means he thinks that you and I are fake accounts just talking about the site to hype it up.  Not the case.  But no way to prove it that I can think of. (If you have an idea to prove we aren't working together to generate fake hype I'm all ears) In answer to your other question, you just have to wait till the XP gets credited.

Hopefully none.  If you find a site that we are linking to that does do that let us know and we will remove them asap.

I've registered to check it out, the sites wont give you spyware... they will however give you a nice payment bill if you dont read stuff correctly. Ofcourse, you wont just fill the credit card info in a random site, if you have half a brain.

Since i'm not from US, i only got the 'bonus' points so far. All other "offers" available to me would HAVE for me to spend money on the site.

Some offers (that i cant take) are simply get to the site, due a survey of sorts, or just register, and you are done.

So, a "60 days time card" for a game is around 40k points. Some offers where you dont have to spend money give you 2k points (or less, way less).

Means each of those offers are around 1-2 dollars (dunno how mutch a time card costs exactaly).

That is just a little more then what Google advertising would give for profit.

All in all, if no foul play (and i havent seen none so far) is made, it's like i said, just another way to do marketing, in this case, you can infact get some profit out of it (i.e. free gameplay of a game).

In no way i'm suporting the site, i'm just stating facts :p

i still want to see someone who has earned a time card.and it's generally based around us so this sucks.

Well I didn't earn enough to get a time card from them but I did get L$ form them...

  • Zr970Zr970 Member Posts: 4

While some of the offers require a small purchase, or CC info, there are a lot that dont... My brother and I (Zr970 and MonkeyMan if you register on the site, you will see us on the user list) have done offers to get Tabula Rasa 30day gift card, it was like 25,000 xp, at about 500xp per free offer.

As far as spyware goes - none of the offers add anything more than a tracking cookie to your machine (when doing free offers, a lot of them are through the same ad service, so cleaning cookies out will allow you to do multiple surveys from the same ad agency... There were two offers that wanted me to install some sort of software, and of course, were worth quite a bit more than the free ones... but ofc. they fill up your machine with crap (I used a VMWare boot to do it, never got XP for it, and the VMmachine is no longer bootable...)

So yeah, if you went in for the highest XP offers, they ask you to buy things you dont need, and some offers never get the XP to you, but from talking to the admins on their IRC channel, its up to the ad agencys to report that you did what they wanted... so YMMV on some I guess...

If you have a few hours here and there kicking around between raids, you can get a card in a few days, and im sure its possible to get one a month if you tried hard enough, but I don't have the patience to do so - I do a few offers a week, and if I dont make 25k by the time the month is up, i just buy a time card at BB

I will note that i was asked to come and explain my experience by the Admin's

    "

Since you have gotten a gamecard (or L$) from us can you post here to confirm to the people that we are real and do actually give things away?

People have been asking about us.  And it would mean more coming from someone besides us.

So yeah, I have gotten a time card, I am an actual user of the site, I will agree that filling out 50 surveys asking if i am a smoker, or if I have one of 900 deseses may not be the best way i can spend time for time cards, but again, if theres a downtime in Tabula Rasa, or I am between missions and have some time to kill, why not?

As an additional note - anyone who is interested in which offers I completed, and actually got XP for, let me know - zr970.network@gmail.com, I would be happy to let you know which ones are worth doing, and which ones I never saw a result for.

Don't worry your not being cynical nowadays its just good Internet sense to be careful of things like that.

I have been using the site on and off since it first opened up and so far I have earned enough XP to recieve four 30 day SOE game cards. All of this was done without spending a dime!

It all comes down to the ammount of time and the offers you select. Some of the ones I completed required me to use my credit card info but for those you have to remember to kill your subscription before time runs out!

For me it's a great way to get game time because I don't have a lot of money floating around but I do have a lot of free time heh

Give it a shot! You have nothing to lose if you play the game right...

The thing that sucks is that the majority of offers are for the US. There's exactly one for my country and that requires me to pay R15 for a "radar" on my cellphone. No thanks
