I have a sarnak troubador(57) on Unrest server that I have been playing off and on, about half his levels are from rested. The leveling and the game as a whole for me was amazing up to level 50'ish. At this level, it seemed the game pretty much forced you to go to the desert of flames area. I know some areas won't appeal to each and every gamer out there, but this 50-60 run almost seems like hell for me. Did anyone else feel this way? I have had some people on the server tell me " DUDE, just get to 60, that's the home stretch!".
I find maybe that will happen, but these last levels seem rather harsh, even on rested exp rofl. Did anyone else feel this way in their 50s? if so how did you cope with it and where did you go?. I really want to get my troub up to raiding levels because I have about 4 guilds that want me in real bad.

Yeah, Im not a fan of desert of flames having worn out the material on several characters. Actually, at your level you can go to Tenebrous Tangle in KOS and start working on the quests there, thats about when I started I believe at 57.
Cool, I will have to check that out when I get home from work tonight

Theres also Lesser Faydark at your level.
If you don't like Desert of Flames, then go to Lesser Faydark. Its not that hard.
It definitely used to be bad when there was only Desert of Flames, but there are a lot of quests in Lesser Faydark, and it is an interesting area (though sometimes infuriating!) I also recommend Tenebrous Tangle starting about the time you can handle high 50s stuff, there are some great quests for coin and xp, and when you can start getting into Sanctum of Scale and breeding grounds groups the xp really starts to fly in.
Went there last night, everything was 58+. I am a troub ( which I regret sometimes, haha) so found it rather hard to solo the packs of aviaks. I managed though .
Sunken sands is my fave zone in any mmorpg, thought it was beautiful, just a shame EQ2 has all the zoning which kills the game for me.

Talking about SWG much?
I think you must be the first person ever to declare the Sinking Sands as their favorite zone.
For me the dead zone is 65-70, the quests are scarce (at least loping plains is there now), and I dont group, the xp seems slow going. I havent experienced 70-80 yet though so cant speak for that, but for me 65-70 is rough.
I actually leveled a new character on another account to level 20, im going to mentor him and try some quests and see how that helps.
Actually you can start in Kylong Plains around 65. Plenty of quests there so since the release of RoK 65-70 isnt really a dead zone like it was pre RoK.

I think I may do that soon, I should be 66 today or tommorrow and may head over there. My concern is, if I head over there early, at say level 66, will I have burnt out all the solo content by say level 75 then or are there a lot of quests still to get through to 80 on solo content?

My Alt Swashie started in Kylong at 66, he's currently 77 and only about half way through the last zone (Jarsath Wastes). So he still has quite a bit to do which should get him to 80 or very close. This is from a solo perspective too, he hasnt completed any group quests or dungeons.

I've never played through it cause I quit before in 2004 but I did a come back trial and went to that zone and ran around it and thought it was really amazing looking, I just wish'd that instead of all the zoning it would be totally seemless because I would love to see the flight to the city on a magic carpet instead of a loading screen.

Fantastic, thank you for the reply looks like I will be heading there today or tommorrow then
DoF is horrific, I mean the worse zone I've ever played in any game lol. I forgot about lesser faydark ty. Before EoF I quit as 52 necro too, attempting to solo in DoF was unplayable. 1-20 is becoming a levelling deadzone lol, there's nobody online in this level range and after watching the chat channels there seems to be very few online sub level 30.

On Antonia Bayle at least, I always see people lately in the Timorous Deep starter zone, also 1-20 flies by so quick in timorous deep.
Im hoping the new expansion introduces more midlevel content that can complely replace DoF. And it would be great if they have a new class as well.
Yes the 50's are harsh to lvl, and if you dislike gaining xp in desert of flames go to the faydarks, and if your not too self centered you can mentor down and go anywhere and gain xp anyplace that is below your level, as a matter of fact i think the next three weekends is bonus mentoring weekends. So yes the 50's are hard, and if you want to skip the 50's go to the broker and buy glowie collections and turn them in at the 50's this will jump you up a few lvl's as well as gain you aa xp. Are you forced to go to the desert of flames, heck no, you can go anywhere under your lvl to gain xp, as soon as you hit 56 you can leave desert of flames behinfd sand go somewhere else like another part of the faydarks and or the beggining parts of tenebrous tangles in kingdom of sky.
playing eq2 and two worlds
the droags are not avioks.
There is a long waterfall you can jump down in tenebrous tangle, there are quests that start there, its a long jump and you gotta aim for the pool at the bottom or youll hit the rocks, lol, and there are basket quests laying around tt that you can get by clicking on the bashkets and killing the stuff that fly around the area, like those bu gs tht fly around there, and they are nowhere near the droags, and if you are in a guild, ask your guild mates tohelp you do city writs for guild status points, you can get 4 of them for the same droag mobs up there in the same area, making you get guild status fast as heck, this is where i turned my xp gain off for a long time so i can get a lot of guild status points.

I personally found lvl 60-64 the hardest few levels, even when grouping in the TT group zones.
However, the worst place to level is TT as a lvl 55-60 conjurer on PvP server haha... all the capped chars just ganking you with their imba gear all the time.. decreasing exp time and also stealing your many golds from the basket quests
