Actually PvP in AoC is much more simillar to WoW than LotrO... Ettenmoors isnt instances and its a persistant battlefield.. no capture the flag (skull) or that kind of things that have no place in MMOs IMO...
You are right, my wording was confusing.
What I meant was that in Lord of the Rings: Online the only type of PvP you have is set apart from the primary game world and is staged fights without any sort of game world influence, much like Battlegrounds in World of Warcraft or PvP Mini-Games in Age of Conan.
I'm aware I could have been a lot clearer.
The point I was trying to get to was that if a person had read up on Age of Conan and decided this was the game for said person, if you read up on Lord of the Rings: Online afterwards and finds that that game too is just the game for the person, then I would be very surprised as they are very different games with a very different focus.
I'm not saying one is better than the other, I just think it is a bit like comparing Chess and Checkers, might seem superficially comparable but with vastly different gameplay beneath.
I'm taking a break from AoC as well and returning to LotRO. I always liked this game the only problem was the last time I was here it was really weak on the endgame scene. I see they've added a couple of books as well as player housing. I look forward to seeing the changes.
As I suggest to all new comers, check out Brandywine!

That's kinda what I did, I left Lotro (Stupid mistake) to try out AoC played for one month decided it was not enough to keep me playing and now I'm back in Lotro
MMO's iv played etc:
Currently playing: .Lotro
Retired From best to worst: .CoX, SWG, AoC, WoW, Eve online, R.O.S.E online, Kal Online, Runescape, Other F2P mmo's
Waiting for: .SGW .Champions Online .DCUO .Star Wars TOR
Same here, decided to try AoC, found out the world of Hyboria (according to Funcom) is anything but seamless, unlike well, LotRO where you can ride on your horse anywhere in the outside world, from Angmar to Misty Mountains/Forochel, into a large population centre like Bree etc etc and have all the zones seamlessly blending into each other without a single loading screen (apart from the Ered Luin "gate" of course).
I guess I was a fool to expect the same thing from AoC, but then again why wouldn't I, after all Hyboria just like Middle-Earth is the kind of wide-open spaces world where one would expect to be able to ride a horse from the mist...er, I mean snowy mountains of Cimmeria to the vast Steppes of Hyrkania, etc, sadly that is not the case with loading screens a-plenty if you want to travel anywhere. So, back to LotrO
Although I liked AOC (graphics, melee combat system and some of the classes), I stoped playing because of constant bugs, feats and many things not working, constant game crashes. I just coudn't p(l)ay anymore.
Last weekend I was playing LOTRO again. Found my old friends in new guild, downed Thorog for first time (atleast for me), was doing inn quests, was delivering beer and vine all around Eriador. All these small and big things make LOTRO so special.
During this weekend I realised how I missed seamless world and stability of client., my sweet home in Shire and Summer Festival hehe.
I may give a try to AOC in couple of months, but i doubt. Still have to do things I haven't finished in LOTRO while playing AOC. And also MOM will come out.
BTW is it enough to delete payment agreement to stop paying for AOC or must I cancel sub? Wanna keep my alts if I'll try AOC someday.
