now thursday day has come and gone it does look like a hoax, really shame cause even though i thought it was too good to be true, i still hoped, i think its gonna have to be back to eve online, the only sandbox game out there
heaven and earth are ruthless, and treat the myriad creatures as straw dogs
So my basic question is from the information given so far, would you personally be interested in such a game? Ideas and comments are strongly encouraged. Thanks for your time! ~ R.K.
So its purely a caster mmo? I probably wouldn't play it but I can see it being easier to balance pvp caster vs caster than caster vs melee which is always hard to balance.
I enjoyed sandbox very much since star wars galaxies was my first mmo..
Some things I would personally like to see in newer games would be a complex crafting system..
Have your resources have various stats on them that produce a better or worse end result.. I.E player see's ore mine.. Player mines ore with either poor, good, exceptional or prsitine qaulity. He doesnt know what hets gets till hes done mining. The ore nodes spawn randomly throughout the seamless world and any node could spawn any type of qaulity at random...
The reason you do this is because when a crafter crafts lets say a bone wand.. If you look at the old school swg crafting system it had 3 tiers where you had so many points you could put into each of the 3 but never maxing out all 3. I think it was durability, damage and speed but I think I could be wrong..
Anyways, your crafter has let say 10 points to put into any of the tiers and with better qaulity resources you have a better chance at succeding in making the item, even perfecting the succes chance and maxing out a line with left over points.. But not only that, the game should rely heavily on stat mods (refer to pre cu swg stats) (examples: dodge +5 , melee weapon speed +3 , melee weapon accuracy +5, Crafting experimentation +2)
So you see the last example of Crafting experimentation +2 would add 2 points to his crafting skill on top of his 10 he has from being a master crafter in his chosen crafting type. Obviously a new crafter would work through varying levels through experience and start with +0 to crafting.. Each skill box he grinds for xp gives him new mods and items to craft.. Then you put recipes and blueprints in the loot tables that might require say weaponsmithing level 4 to make a special loot drop.. The recipe should also require some pristine resources and perhaps a rare gem or something.. Make them work for that special item, then make them go find someone to make it.. This drives your economy....
You make the skill mods drops but extremely rare yet still attainable and TRADEABLE/ sellable ...
K, cya in 5 years when you're done... GL
Oh I forgot to mention one thing... DECAY DECAY DECAY....
Those items, even the rarest ones must decay at a rate of once every so many hours equating to something like 4 hrs a day at 60 days the item = broke/unuseable..... Yes it will piss people off, but it will help drive the economy so it doesn't become inflated where after 6 months your crafters are twiddling their thumbs wondering why nothing is moving off their broker.. It will also keep people playing longer... Enough of this eq2 raid gear last forever crap... Get hardcore or GTFO.. lol
I would definitely play a redone Ac game.I played addictively for 4 !/2 years.I thing game mechanics Skill/exp purchase should remain in place just updated graphics. One thing I would change would be allegiance system exp points. You should not getting exp points for people underneath you this only encouraged Exp chains and the such an made the game loose a lot of good people who didnt want to deal with it.I admit though the last 2 years I joined a chain because that was the only way to get above 126 +.I leveled a lot but still it is a grinding game which is good,The people today wonder why they loose intrest in a game when they can max level in 2 weeks. They would appreciate their characters better if they had to work for it.Challenge is half of it of the fun.If they scould incorporate some skill base attcks for melee and archery the game would be perfect.the games today are no comparison to how Ac was pre shadow wars patch. Most people who dont rate Ac high are the ones that never played the game. Please make this game!

A no-show by RK Stephens does not bode well. Likely a hoax.
when something sounds to good to be true, *suprise* then it is too good to be true,...
