    - melee attack + 30% for 4h 1.30 $

There is nothing in the store you have to buy.  And most of the people playing the game that I've talked to are against buying stuff from the store.  In addition, there are several posts about how useless many of the items in the store are.  What we would like to see are preservation stones (make it so when you forge, you fail you don't loose the item) and skill stones (the skills go up t level 5, with these can go up to 7).

So yeah, everything you would want to buy in the store can be bought in game for in game money.  In addition, you can sell items from the game for store points that you can then use to buy that stuff if you wanted to (kinda like EVE's GTC).

A game has to make money.  Free to play games usually make them with a store or lots of ads.  This one went with the store.  SOE did the same thing with the EQ2 exchange servers.  And it is not the first or will be the last to do similar.

The english version atm is more grindy than Lineage 2 (the 30s in rohan feels like the 40s in lineage 2). It takes roughly 1000 mobs to lvl you from 34 to 35 (and those are mobs that are 10 lvls higher than you).  The exp curve basically skyrockets up the 20's and never really flattens down.

Plus the massive bot problem already hitting it.

It could be a good game, but it appears they want to force players to use the CS by making the exp rates brutal and the drop rates just as bad.

what about higher levels. because in lineage 2 you get 0.01% for every kill in the 70s

lol in the 70s it is roughly .001 per kill, so 10 times more mobs per lvl than L2

and L2 caps at ~lvl 80, rohan caps at lvl 99.  in the 90s it is .0001 per kill

My god has horns.... nah, I don't think he is real either.

ive started playing this game, looks ok so far, nice animations, movement system kinda weird, but looks alright.

The only thing i dislike is the fact you have to be lvl 30 to wtfpwnt other players

  • xephonicsxephonics Member UncommonPosts: 672

since pvp dmg is reduced to ~1/8th or 1/10th the normal dmg, you will not wtfpwnt anyone, unless you are 30 lvls higher, or you have a raid group.

u cant pvp until lvl 30

  • xephonicsxephonics Member UncommonPosts: 672

yes I know, and even when you get to pvp the dmg is so reduced it is about pointless.

well that makes the game more challenging, and gives you something to get lvl 30 for

I am lvl56 dragon sage and im surprised at how everyone is finding it hard to grind. The quests are actually pretty rewarding, at my lvl, just doing the quests gets you about 40% to 60% of the xp already so u are only left with a little bit of work before u lvl.

I admit the 20s and 30s are pretty tough but 40s was a breeze for me and 50s is just, refreshing, due to the 2nd job.

Let me just share a bit of my journey in Rohan. I grinded my dekan to lvl25 solo and i was actually very disheartened to play anymore, thus i decided to go explore around before quitting this game. I decided to give party grind a try( im a solo idealist so i pretty much dislike it). Party grind is totally awesome i must say(Just have to adapt to it even if i dont like sharing loots ^^;). With ppl who knows what they are doing, lvling could be made much easier, and also that is when i first learned about ahkma cave, the monster in there is tougher than those in the wild and gives more xp(like Ursa in ahkma > Ursa in the wild). So i got 25 to 33 from ahkma. After that I went on to do some quests and then saw this triple combo tonken crone quest ^^, i mass farmed them for both the crone reward and the neat xp till i was 38 and went on to the legendary double specter crone quest which fills up your wallet so damn fast. But i started splurging on refines and well im left with 60K now, but you can get millions of the double specter quests easily.

Anyway, from 38 to about 40 i was doing that quest then I decided to go and clear up all the quests(I havent done any ever since i went ahkma from lvl25), and this time, since im rich enough to afford buying all the various types of portal stones, i decided to go around clearing up all the quests for all 6 town(Only dhans and dekans can do all 6 towns, the other 4 race can only do 4, they get pwned by our guards if they try to come). So I decided to clear all the quests that reward me with armor parts of the destruction set and above to mass produce graham parts. I clear all weapon reward quests lvl30 and onwards.

You'd be surprised, the quests actually give pretty neat XP and due to the fact that i was already like 40 when i went back to clear the quests right from 30, when i finished them all till my current lvls, i was already like 47 or 48, which took only 2 days, 40-48. With a bit more effort which im sure anyone can muster, hit lvl50, job change and there you go... After that you should know the game well enough to know where to go for grind parties at which lvl and stuff. Most likely, you would have gotten yourself inside a guild too and they could provide assistance.

As for the pk, dmg is reduced by 66% only, that means 1/3 dmg not 1/8 or 1/10 or whatever u've been thinking. If u doing really pathetic dmg, it just means either u're weak, or his armors are good, or theres a significant lvl gap. 1v1 pk, depending on what class vs what class, can take VERY long, VERY short or they can go on forever with no victor. But that is because everyone pots in pk, hence the long time. This wont happen much in high lvl play with all the silencing, perma stun and all kind wicked combo accessible from 2nd job. Dhans have stun and silence, Humans have perma stuns, Elf and Dark elf have roots, binds, debuff, reflect negative buff, all kind of shit, Dekans have no-pot skill and stun.

And yes it is very hard to hunt ppl down alone, im saying this from a dekan's POV because we have no root and stun spells for our first 57 lvls ^^; If i remember correctly, the stun skill is at 58, either that or 60. Other classes have roots, stuns, binds and stuff. Usually the pk i've seen are from all out guild war and KOSes, which means there are parties fighting, so nailing down ppl is actually possible.

About the cash shop price being ridiculous, yes if you are going to be buying it, you will find it crazy but there is an alternative. You can actually sell in game stuff on exchange market for RP which is like, so easy to earn? That's why they need to raise the price because now they given you an option to get cash shop item for FREE. the exchange market only requires USD5.00 and you get a bonus goodie bag now with 1 mkill scroll, imba max-hp pot 25x and 30slot weightless bag. U all might argue, if everyone thinks like me, who is gonna pump real money in to buy things so that RPs will circulate around. Well, i dont know the answer but fact is i am almost able to buy the storage bag now from selling Pluion unique armor parts and someone i know sold his character for 25k RP, that is USD250 ^^.

As for the bots and stuff, you just have to accept the fact that if infests all f2p mmos. But what is different here is that the GMs are very active in bot hunting and also on a side note, the GMs are very engaging and active in the forum and take in what the community says. BUT, they are seriously ridiculously pathetically understaffed so bad that things are not going fast enough, and with all the high expectation and a massively huge community, they get flooded with whines and rants all day long. They dont realise that when requesting changes and tweaks, it doesnt happen like in the next week. Suggestions from community gets reviewed, sometimes polls are made, then maybe they are taken in, maybe they are not, then they wait and compile an entire list of changes to make and integrate it into the game, before the patching up comes. Recently there are 4 new GMs here to help out in Rohan, still have to wait to see if anything changes for the better.

How long is it taking for you to lvl right now (per lvl)

and are you using exp and m.kill scrolls?

My god has horns.... nah, I don't think he is real either.

  • crunchyblackcrunchyblack Member Posts: 1,362

wow thats a pretty crappy cash shop....not only over priced but creates a big unfair advantage.

that guy said you dont need those items...but...with all the grind youll need them...and if you plan on pvp rest assured many pvpers will be using those unfair advantage stat boost scrolls

korea needs to junk the 100's of cookie cutter cash shop games and just concentrate on making one decent one.

It has an item mall & exp events.

dont play it unless ur the type that buys their stats with rl cash, or you just like being outdone by ppl who worked 1/2 as hard as you did.

Im not even gonna bother trying it.

This game is already death. Dont bother to download this shit.Since masive bots ban(bots mean its a grind fest face the truth, not to mention bugs from CB till OB nothing being fixed), and ppls constantly quiting,  servers are nearly empty ... this game died after like 2 months of OB.

I already droped my lvl 58 toon

  • TrashcantoyTrashcantoy Member Posts: 827

its good to see they haven taken actions against the bots, however it reduced the server loads with 50% :O it aint really dead, just not near as busy as it was, but most of those ppl were bots anyway so ur only missing an annoyance

    MMOs currently playing: -
About to play: Lord of the Rings Online
Played: Anarchy Online (alltime favorite) and lots of f2p titles (honorable mentions: 9Dragons, Martial Heroes, Dekaron, Atlantica Online)

  • Raistlin25Raistlin25 Member Posts: 21

To be really fair, it's worth a shot. I have a level 40 Half Elf (The weakest of the classes) and even then I don't have much trouble. The bots are getting better, the staff's working on things to make it better.

The item mall is more or less optional, as it's not wholly needed to do anything. They're only good for people who want to go at it fast.

Their live support staff is excellent, and that's from twenty two different MMOs that I have played.

EDIT: Just on the grind factor: at level 39-40, took me approximately four hours. No item mall use, breaks in between for Olympics/Gymnastics. Just some mobs and three quests (two which are repeatable). Decide for yourself.

It is actually a good game, except the pk part, irriating! hehe but most players play it for the pk part.
