Game questions

Hello
I am considering giving Istaria a try,but have a few questions:

1.is the game single player type?
2.how many players usually online?
3.how is the community?

Thanks

    1. The game is MMO but due to the fact that it is more of a elder community it can be hard to find a group at times. Not impossable but can be hard.

    2. Not sure of numbers a couple hundred. It is a small community.

    3. Over all it is a pretty good community. Like any you do have your bad apples but as long as your nice most people are nice to you. It is considered to be one of the better communities, but that is because it is smaller I think.

    1. You're in luck - Istaria is a solo oriented mmo - an advantage or disadvantage depending on how you like to play. Following is copied/pasted from similar question asked in another thread.

It discourages grouping. Bipeds (non-dragons) can multiclass. While this extends the game's longevity and makes solo gameplay a bit more interesting, it also kills grouping. The only time players team up is when someone needs to kill one of the mega-boss types for a quest.

The most you get by way of player interaction when it comes to combat is players buffing each other in passing.

    2. Varies from very few to almost 200?

    3. Varies again. The good is really very good. But the bad are like nothing you'll ever see in any other mmo, mainly cos they're largely unrestrained.

On the Chaos server, stick to the dragon channel and you're normally fine. The marketplace channel, in particular, can get feral.

The Order (roleplaying) server has a better reputation.

And Blight (testing server) has an even better reputation.

I keep going back and always love the game and Ive been there since beta.  Its a great game, lovely crafting system and so many friendly people.  Its a shame its a small community, but such is life. It is definitely worth a vist, lovely landscapes, nice quests, fun mobs.

    Good luck.
