ok you got me really worried now
some of the people in here and MOST of the people on the official boards are acting like they are part of a SECT, god damnit you cant be both blind/deaf AND stupid ? are we watching the same videos ? the same screenshots ? realizing what you see is what you get is the key here..
i see these dillusional fanbois saying "plenty of time to polish" POLISH??!? you gonna need to use all the polishing paste the world can produce to save that utter piece of crap, now if it was F2P it would look promising but seeing this has been developed for how long ? and THIS is the state its in... jesus christ you cant just sit there and think thats OK ?

While i agree with some of what you say, posting anything like this here is pointless tbh. Your preaching to the congregation as most have already made their minds up about what this game will be like, the video is imaterial tbh.
Most arguments here have ended up as "prove it" deadlocks, neither the fanbios nor the nay-sayers can prove anything as there is no concrete information on the game.
If the video had looked like some 80's Atari game, some would still have said it was the gameplay thats important, not the graphics which is another deadlock as no-one knows what the gameplay will be like as we haven't seen the UI yet

Your post is somewhat hypocritical... You're complaining about people judging the game based on 17 minutes of raw footage - and what exactly are you doing?
As I said in response to a similar thread recently; anybody that's *that* worried about graphics isn't a true MMO fan, or for that matter a true gamer. Graphics are just another way to help engage the player - something which shouldn't be necessary if the gameplay is engaging enough in itself. I'd happily play old-skool UO over any modern MMO, the graphics mean next to nothing in a game with that much depth.

I hope the game does well but there are some crazy people on that forum though. I wouldn't call them a sect =d, but they seem to blank out any negative aspect the game might have.

Darkfall last video was 640x480 and on average graphic settings.
Of course the game you will play onscreen will look ALOT better. That video dont do justice to how the game will look when you play it onscreen. If you raise the settings it will be so much better looking then the video were.
Animations and effects is as i see it easily patched.
EvE online did just that and did it good.
With money in their pockets the Darkfall Devs will improve the game were looking at today in so many ways.
Im not the slightest worried the game will deliver, and deliver good.
What Darkfall fans wants isnt the latest graphics. Many of us still play UO on freeshards and think that game is better then the latest MMORPG:s.
Graphics is for most Darkfall fans a low prioritated feature.
Gameplay is what counts.
The latest generation of MMORPG players like the OP most likely is dont understand that a game without the latest graphics can be ALOT better and more fun then the top of the notch graphic MMORPG games with just about no content nor gameplay.
Endgames in themepark MMORPG games is so boring that its like the game died when you reached top level. Its as fun as watching paint dry.
That i dont see in a game like Darkfall. It will be a longlasting adventure for all players. A game where you get your money back and have alot of fun in a game that will last.

My guess is that the OP like many other trolls on this board is scared "his "game will loose alot of followers and will find his game abit dried out cause Darkfall will be a success. He is just scared.
A bit low though to call the fans of another game then the one he plays for a "sect".
Its easy to read btw the lines and see what his intentions is.
IMO they need to abandon the stupid ship battle idea and work on polishing up the animations/movements.

Most people will not play a game with this graphics, and this could be a good thing. But he, don't say that others game will drie because of this game. If that game is released, and the gameplay is very good ( why? ) not everyone will jump. One minority, has graphics is 25% to 40% of what people want in games, maybe the 60% of what people want on new games.
i think the problem is less of how bad the graphics will be when it comes out but rather if it will ever come out at all. i mean sure it looks like it has potental but so did AoC rather than being a hater of the game i think most people here are just skeptical of promises from an mmo developer, i mean shit everyone of us has probably seen some of the better looking (graphics and gameplay) that never got released. and you cant say the system will be amazing by video cause honestly AoC's system looked and sounded amazing untill you actully used it. again im not hating im just a skeptic, the game may not even ever come out who knows if itll be good if it ever does untill it actully does.

We are not a sect but people who are really excited about a game that offers a sandbox experience that many feel has been lacking in MMO lately
For my part I will play the game and then comment.After the disaster of AOC I will never be disappointed in an MMO again .I have nothing to lose ..but so much to gain

i would wait for beta vids and then presume.
Many a times MMO played by developers are in skeleton mode and thats what it looked like
Even the crappy gameplay AOC graphic engine was crap in beta and in retail it got better.

and someone said aoc was crappy in beta and got better at release ?, i was in the beta and i bought the crap, it looked exactly the same, we even had more choice of gear in beta since the droplocations changed for live making everyone look the same. there was no patch of 7 wonders
i called WoW as a hit,lotro as a hit and i called vanguard as shit, i called aoc as shit, and now i call darkfall as shit, ive been completely right 4 times, i really doubt im wrong about darkfall but we will see, id still prolly buy it as ive bought the other 2 "shits" cause after all you never know IF the patch of 7 wonders strikes

Graphics, animations and effects dont concern me the slightest when im wondering about Darkfall.
All that i worry about is wether they achieve to deliver a good gameplay like a skillful and challenging PvP.
Wether all features will be in. Nice PvE and crafting. A good sandbox.
I do believe it will all be there but thats what im concerned about. I havent had one thought on the graphics, animations or effects. Its just something i dont care for. And its the truth.
I care for gameplay and a funny sandbox, period.
I still enjoy UO on freeshards and actually see them as a way better game then WoW, AoC and WAR. Graphics isnt the most important issue for the sandbox people.
Its really hard to bring out the last graphics if you want a sandbox that can deliver low lag in epic battles. I prefer not so good graphics and a nice FPS in those 200 vs 200 battles.

If you want to compare games, at least do it right. Comparing levelbased, themeparkgames to skillbased, sandboxgames is futile. Compare it to Eve.

Why just Darkfall would be the game that wont be released isnt easy to understand with the preparations for beta and a official release date 2008.
The video didnt make the odds for a release any worse.
Aventurine that makes Darkfall havent followed the average way in PR and thats something people cant understand. This is also one of the reasons people mistrust them.
They dont have the funds needed to have large advertisment campaigns and this is common news for the Darkfall followers, especially a longtimer like me, but not for someone that just recently joined in the discussion.
Aventurine and Blizzard is two companies with totally different realities.
I can agree though that Blizzard games are more likely to be released.

Just stop complaining about game graphics. Pps here do not care about it. We have seen many crap games with stupid gameplay. Darkfall fanboys, just expect nice gameplay and do not care about the graphics where most of the money goes for many other beautifull crap games. If you want to look graphics go and watch Final fantasy movie and stop complaining here...

i seen 4 direction of swings and i think a few skills. very hard to tell because it was to hectic lol
