ok... the buffy thing is bad enough..
but the part where i vomited was when i read that along side the new buffy mmo, there will also be a titanic based one.. not based on the real events, but based on the leo dicaprio movie from 10 years ago.

Buffy's pretty cool. Great show, great acting, good story. An enjoyable show.
I'm doubtful how a Buffy MMO will work though. O.o

I think this'll be GREAT! A buffy MMO would TOTALLY work if it takes place after the seventh season, with all the slayers and such.

its not a titannic mmo.......... its suppose to be a virtual world for learning and it seems its based off james cameron because he is did the most research when making that movie,,,,,,, so no titanic mmo we wont have to grind lower class people to level up
Firefly might work, Buffy is another matter. For my vampire MMO fix Ill bet my money on World of darkness online. And the Titanic thing was a joke, right?

That made me really laugh as my friend was a big Gilmore Girls fan and got me into the show as she wanted to always watch it.
As far as a buffy game. I liked the show a lot but that's just a plain bad idea.

I guess I might be the only one but I loved the Buffy Series, and the world is perfect for an MMO, if its done right.
One thing they have to do right off the bat, is make being a slayer unlockable. In the story of Buffy there is only one slayer every 30 or so years. In fact my favorite episode is the one that shows how Spike killed all the other slayers through history except for Buffy. (The best one is a fight between him and a 70's african american Go Go dancer on a subway train. In the end he kills her and takes her Trench coat, which is the one he wears in the show) It would make sense though to have alot of "Apprentice" Slayers, that all answer to buffy, but really there needs to be other jobs involved.
Edit: Sadly I just read something about a 2-d flash based gameplay? Damn another good IP lost!

Well, I disagree with you there. Sure, it had better and worse seasons but was fun throughout. They ended it at the right time.
Still, a game based on the world is just silly. Well, to be more specific, an MMO based on the world. I don't believe it will do well.

Liked the series, all of them.
But an mmo just doesn't appeal at all unless they forget the ip completely and go for a pvp fest, using the name just to get the fans in.

I don't see that as that different from CCP WoD MMO. Of course the ambiance is less dark, but it is basically the same setting.
I am interested in knowing more...and perhaps even try it. I don't see what the fuss is about.

What perplexes me is the fact that there hasn't been one person thats requested or wanted this...You'd think they'd make an MMO catering to the player's desires. Unless there is some secret underground MMO Forum with 50 threads pleading for a Buffy MMO somewhere on the intarwebs, I can't imagine why this is in production.

Actually, if you review all my 7k+ posts, I am pretty sure Buffy was a suggested setting a few times from myself, not that anyone care about what I think. But that made at least 1 person thinking it might be cool.
