went for chanter, I plan on making it as offensive as I can thanks to the stygma system, so while buffing my party I'll also contribute to the damage output, and if that doesn't work out, I'll go for a second healer role.
Gladiator for me. I'm just one of those guys who just has to be in the front lines in my opponent's face with a big weapon of some sort. Every time I play a ranged class, whether it be a ranger or a mage, I always find myself smacking stuff with melee attacks eventually.
I played a Phantom Summoner in L2, summoners are my fav type of classes, and from the looks of it AION has some interesting summons so thats my 1st pick. I also like ot heal and buff so i may give the cleric a try at some point, since i play with 3-4 rl friends its up to the make up of the party.
I always pick classes last since i tend to enjoy just about any role but my friends seems more rigid in their selection lol.
Cleric or Guardian. I love grouping classes, and as tank or healer, it rocks. I play one or the other in every MMO I've given that choice except LOTRO (God, the bard has the most annoying sound set EVER).
In every country and in every age, the priest has been hostile to liberty. He is always in alliance with the despot, abetting his abuses in return for protection to his own.
I voted for sorc. I love to AoE and I'm willing to bet my last penny it has enough nukes to destroy a world twice over. My 2nd choice would be cleric/summoner, coz I also like to AoE and Heal. Guess only time will really tell what classes I'll eventually pick.
May be just me but i find all the classes here and how they are represented to be fun. So i prob wouldnt mind trying them all just so i can experience them. The combat just seems very quick and fun and each class looks very polished and different even if they somehow resemble each other (Chanter/Cleric etc)
I like the Templar because of the Dark Magic and the Melee capabilities, I like the thought of being able to weaken my opponents while beating them down at the same time
I think I would be a templar. They seem to be Aions version of a Paragon or Paladin. I have played as that type of character in other games and thoroughly enjoyed being able to tank or do melee dps as well as buff and heal.
Playing Guild Wars (all games in franchise but mainly GWEN and Nightfall) and WoW (just returned to this great game).
Eagerly awaiting Aion, Guild Wars 2 and Wrath of the Lich King.
I know for certain that I will be playing Assassin. I want to see the difference it has from other assassin based class in other MMOs. But to be honest, I think a Chanter will be interesting. Reminds me of a monk warrior class or something..
Well I voted Sorc. but I must say almost all the classes look great, though Tanking classes are not for me. hmmmm who knows maybe I will like it once I try it in Aion

glad and cleric
March on! - Lets Invade Pekopon
Gladiator as a first pick (vote) but I wouldnt mind also trying out the Spiritmaster.
MMOs Played: I can no longer list them all in the 500 character limit.

I went for summoner, but I'm also intrigued with the chanter, will have to test both and see which one I like better.
(,,,)=^__^=(,,,)
Going for the spellcasting stuff... I am such a Spellcaster... maybe also in RL...
I will probably be a buffer or healer. I am right now thinking Cleric but will probably do a Chanter also.
Man I can't wait.
Why?

Oops, sounds like I was wrong about the templar in that they use dark magic. Cool. Still into that.

Are there any skills lists that may have been translated on any of the classes?
Would be a good way to see the skills as we'd get a good idea on how they play.
for me there is no other options other than a cleric for main healing or templar for tanking, I just love groupng and need to be the best at my job

I agree, it does look like an interesting class

Gladiator: heavy armor, big weapon, melee dps
Main char assassin alt gladiator
spiritmaster
Guild Wars 2 is my religion
In every other MMO I have played a supporting class. Time for a change. I love melee so Gladiator it is!
Ranger, because it's going to be even more versatile with the use of wings in PvP
Probably gonna try all classes but definitely going to start out as an assassin. I just like the whole "ninja style" the class brings
