Is there content getting cut to make release date?

I read on the hype-meter for the game here that people were saying that content is getting cut. I'm sure it's probably temporarily, but does anybody know what things are getting cut for launch? Or if there's a thread or link, if you can direct me towards it.

I'll try to find a link, but it was a total of 4 classes and 4 capital cities.

City siege was redesigned to have one capital for order and one capital for destruction.  They wanted to focus all the fighting towards one goal instead seperating the player base.

The only thing they cut were some classes that may or may not be put in later.

I wouldn't be at all surprised if you ended up paying for the content that was cut,

    EA loves their paid expansions.

Ok, there's a gazillion things on the website. Instead o going back and looking through hours of old newsletters and podcasts, wanted to see if anybody knew of any specifics.

They announced long ago that 4 classes and 4 cities were cut because they were not great. They will be added in later, all 4 classes and all 4 cities, when they are considered great.  I expect them to be patched in. They said rather than put them in now and make large changes to the classes over time to get them right(which they acknowledge pisses people off) they'd rather work on them until they are great and balanced and then add them.

For now the battle is focused on the two cities and it will take alot of people to capture one so having everyone focused on that will help. And lessons learned can be applied to the new cities when patched in.

Ok I gotcha, that's cool. I heard people talking about other classes, and didn't see them on the list, wasn't sure if they were aka's.

    The Choppa (Greenskin)

    The Hammerer (Dwarf)

    The Blackguard (Dark Elf)

The Knight of the Blazing Sun (Empire)

    These are the cut classes.

If you think about it however, it makes sense. This gives each faction unique classes. As you may not know, I don't know how you don't, each faction has an equal special mechanic counterpart on the other side before they took those classes out. For example: a witch elf = witch hunter, magus = engineer, zealot = runepriest, Marauder = shadow warrior. I didn't get the chance to play a blackguard or hammerer, but the knight of the blazing sun = chosen, and the choppa = ironbreaker.

It was either Paul or Jeff that stated that when the missing classes are going to be brought back in to the game, they will be added with a content patch, and not put in with some paid expansion being advertised as new. That just upsets the community and that's not what Mythic is about. It was content that was supposed to come with release, couldn't for whatever circumstances, and when it's ready will be part of the game as intended for no extra fee.

Now we can only hope that the content gets put in relatively soon after release. I'd hate to be waiting a really long time (upwards of a year for some content *coughSonyVanguardcough*) for the extra tanks/mDPS.
