thinking bout coming back

in Final Fantasy XI

Hey, just wondering how the game is going. haven't played in 6  months thinking bout coming back for a bit. server populations still ok? many new players coming in? hows the newest update treating everyone?

    I swear FFXI is like a heroin addiction that you just can’t kick. I’ve been away for 2-3 months now and am thinking of coming back myself.

    Well, normally i'd say 6 months isn't long enough for there much to have changed but in this case it doesn't hold.  There seems to have been an influx of new players and now with Level Sync it seems more people are coming back too.  It seems that finding parties (On Bismarck) has been even easier lately.  I say come back.  But like previously stated, it's like a drug and i feel everyone should play lol.

    Just like you,I feel like Al Paccino in that movie The Godfather (classic flick)... "I keep trying to get out, but they keep pulling me back in!" The only notable difference is that I am always ready and willing to be pulled back into it, just like that nubile little succubus, with her mercurial woes of dreamtime theft, who visits me in the dead of night on some occasions to steal my labidinal fluid. Ahhhhh... God I love FFXI. I can't put my finger on it, but there is definitely something magical about Square/Enix, and their abillity to make a mere video game into an exceptional work of art. Some people complain about the 'grind' as they call it... but I guess it doesn't bother me if there is 'content' and 'storyline' to look foreward to at the end of it all. Have any of you ever played a console game called 'Animal Crossing' (an old Game Cube title)? Well this is precisely what I love about gaming, the subtle little nuances a truly gratifying game experience can provide when one is not entirly aware that he is still merely playing a game. The 'grinding' can be somewhat enjoyable if you learn how to enjoy all aspects of synthetic life (silicon soaked mysticism). Keep playing, because there will always be a few of us hardcore FFXI geeks who shall ever remain.

    Ive been away for one year now, I stopped playing after the last expansion has released. Kinda wanna get back but im kinda scared of being like a noob now after all thats new... Always takes ages to get to know all the new stuff.. FFXI Is just so bigass man with a bigass endgame, thats why you can never give up playing it, it has such a big endgame like no other... I love it.

    But I lost my POL id..   <.<;

    This game has never been better, leveling beastmaster with my wife currently, loving every min of it.
