Crafting - Worthwhile?

I havn't seen or heard much information on the crafting in WAR. After I picked up my first gathering skill (Scavenging), the NPC says that it goes great with talisman making, yet the book says its the best prof. for apothecary's. Anyone know which 4 gathering skills is the best compliment to the other 2 crafts (if there is such a "best"). Also, what is the cap on the skill levels?
I'm not sure if crafting is actually worthwhile in this game but I decided to obviously try it out .. it seems that i'll im finding out is it takes a shitload of bag space .. so any info you guys have on crafting would be awsome

Seems to be going strong in my guild and is very useful. Hard to start by yourself right now since the economy hasnt picked up quite yet. Its personal choice on which 2 you wanna pick. I think they all contribute to each other in some way.
Of the 4 gathering skills:
Cultivating - Apothecary
Butchering - mainly apothecary
Scavenging - Both apothecary and talismans (Can get gold dust and such for talismans)
Magical salvaging - Talismans
That is basically how it works out.
you need to becareful with the alchemy one atleast, there is a known bug (they are working on) that when you fail its suppose to destroy the container if you fail but somtimes it deletes your gear >.< i had it delete my sword and tunic before i noticed..lol
so before you craft to be on the safe side bank everything
I also wanted to add that some of the apothecary potions are BoP with some scavenged materials. While you can scavenge the materials and mail them to another character, the potions themselves are bound once you make them.
On talismans, I was a bit disappointed with the lower level talismans only lasting a few hours. Then I made some "green" quality talisman that lasted for a few days. I haven't dont much in regards to talismans, but I think in the end I would prefer premanent talismans. I would have to defer to someone who has been able to make "blue" & "purple" quality talismans for the durations of those.
