some FACTS

WAR is currently the best MMORPG out on the market.... if you have a good enough computer to set it on full graphics and roll a career that suits your play style.

I have the best of both worlds.... and after having played WoW for 4 years, dozens of others before that starting with EQ, I can safely say it is the best MMORPG to date actually.

Of course, there are issues, such as bugs, GOA's customer service and weird ass server populations, but these will smooth out over time.

However, I think i may feel this way because i was just so sh*t bored with WoW that any fresh experience is going to be magnificent.... but i hope the feeling doesn't deteriorate. Everything about WAR i love so far. If you haven't given WAR a go, I suggest doing so!

It's still your opinion bro, some people don't like the PvP style. I don't think I shall be back to this thread as I'm sure it will turn into a flame fest

That is an opinion. Your opinion.

Facts are not based on opinions and certainly not personal opinions.

My opinion is that WAR is not good enough to compete with the industry standards set out. But I don't sell it like facts.

And no... because YOU are "so shxt bored with Wow that ANY fresh experience is magnificent" doesn't help much does it ?

Reread what you just typed and see where you will be going to in the not so distant future.

I know, but apparenty you don't know it yet.

Because your basing you post on this,  it would be good to provide them dont you think!

Well, I use WoW as a benchbark to compare other MMOs.... and comparing WAR to WoW, WAR is just better... in every single way - no exaggeration, just being completely honest as to how i feel. Given this, IMO, WAR is the 2nd most competitive MMO out in the industry (which it is... just based on the 600k sub numbers which haven't fallen, but increased in the last week, unlike AoC)....

I can understand why the OP is excited about WAR, I too find the graphics in WAR pretty nice, and not laggy, the animation of my BW casting a fireball is pretty impresive.

WAR has a lot going for it, it has so many tiers of leveling and things to do that it engages you right from the get go.  No major bugs, a host of new classes and healthy pops on the servers makes for a winning combination.

I have not gone far in the game as of yet so will reserve my overall approval of the game till later on(my fingers bear the marks of being burnt so many times).

But so far, for a newly released game it is fast becoming one of the best i have experienced (only WoW gave me the magic feeling, but i fear that i may never recapture that), i hope it holds out..........................

And you quite obviously haven't played WAR... everyone I know personally loves it. I'm in 'Gentlemans Club' on Korgath in WoW.... essentially the leading guild on our server on horde side, and almost half of us have semi-migrated. We still have our WoW subscription, but we're also playing WAR (WAR 90% of the time)... and have few complaints, and mostly, it is a lot of FUN.

Which is exactly what makes it an opinion :)

What MMO is "best" is an opinion, all around, since what is best is purely subjective on a person to person basis.

The fact is that nobody knows... but potentially 600k atm. The most important part is that these numbers are increasing, not decreasing like AoC's in the first week. WAR has done better than WoW's numbers at release, and by me comparing WAR to WoW, the former is a lot better.

Your estimate - 400K (NOT 600k)- came from the launch date and the source is... the designer in person.

He just multiplied the number of on line players (75k) with X factor.

EA spokesman spoke of long term subscriptions YESTERDAY. At first I found that stupid, but he has to take care of stock holders.

And I got the impression he already was securing EA position and was speaking of break even points and damage control (only 5% influence on total EA sales etc).

Combine this with the boxes that stay on dealers shelves here in EU.

As to Wow launch: they only launched in US and had 350K in its first hour. In fact they needed to stop selling for a few weeks because they didn't even have enough servers in place. 5 million in 6 months time that game went.

So how about that queing line on Nov 13th (need glasses and a false beard ? :) )

    Obvious troll is obvious.

Also - if you don't like the game (honestly I dont think you've played it), then I feel sorry for you - your bad taste is getting in the way of playing the best MMORPG, which will be around in 10 years unlike WoW ;)

Did you actually READ the link you posted?  It's an analyst guessing, based on the fact EA wants to at least "break even".  He's an analyst, he doesn't work for EA and it's a guess, how did you miss that?

Um, you do realise your WAR-WoW comparisonm, relatively, is completely silly right? 350k In WoW days pretty much the top population of the best MMO out there at the time. To get an equal accomplishment today WAR would have to be somewhere between 5-10 million at release.

Ok and where are the facts?

For me WAR is like a Warcraft 3. The "world" is like a battle net chat room, and you mess around while waiting in the queue for battleground (looking for game in w3) How can actually people think this is a MMORPG? Look at it, it has no world.

I would settle for 2.2 million certified SOLD in the first day (like TBC did) as a good release.

Not 75 K simultanious users logged in on the first launch day and do a 5x times math to arrive at some 350K potential users.

Keep dreaming. I know the product is NOT good enough for a swap. it doesn't meet the industry standard.

    Period. My opinion :))
