in my opinion, PQs are over-done and handfed to us via opengroups. theres no fun in that after a while. i miss the atmosphere of a LFG community. the biggest things about a LFG environment is 1)feeling apart of a large and active community-whether your social or not. and 2) advertisment of zones and instances u might never learn about otherwise. u know, like; "LFG gunbad 22+" -well, what the hell is gunbad? turns out its a cool instance in the badlands with 25+-champs where u can group up into a typical team and kick hardcore ass. "wow! sweet lets go there, where is it? ohya cool OMW i can help!" *sigh*
i kinda feel like a leaf floating around looking for a place to land in WaR. every1 is running around from PQ to PQ doing their own thing....its kinda, boring.
another thing thats dearly missed in WaR is collecting mats that can be found in the world aka herbalist or mining. nothing like the sweet rush of finding a rare black lotus. (yaya, "wow, go back to it" whatever)
wheres the subtle things like that? that keep u busy when your not killing. where are the felwood corrupted songflowers or whipper root tubers that i can gather? nothing like claiming an area to farm mats like that while defending from enemy players! damnit i want to fish and even pick flowers. (yaya again "go back to wow", listen to what i'm saying and what war might be missing to make it an overall attractive and addicting game for the average population. wow obviously got it right, so why not compare)
wheres stuff like that in the environment that u can interact with beside mobs to kill or pqs to join without even asking. pvp i love in war, except the waiting for hours on end to get into a scenario. tho, overall the pvp in war does not feel like rvr. its nothing like DAoC to me. maybe once most ppl hit lvl40 things will change.
ideas? comments? retards trying to sound smart and important by saying my opinion is wrong?
am i missing something in WaR?

If you are looking for things to do that don't involve killing or pvping then how about the billion tome of knowledge unlocks that only come from finding tiny little out of the way things in the game that you can interact with? Go title collecting, or find the right mobs that unlock cool cloaks, tactics, or trophies that you can display on your character.
There are tons of little odd things you can do to collect titles, for instance in a spot you can dislodge a rock that crushes a little snotling who is taking a nap below it and earn the title "The Peculiar". Some tome unlocks require you to follow a path of actions before you unlock a title, tactic, or item.
Just because you cannot pick flowers does not mean there is not hundreds of cool things in the game to find. Have you for instance found all of the low level Lairs containing hero mobs in very very out of the way places that are sometimes very difficult to find?
I hate the LFG community it takes an hour or more to get anyone together half the time they won't take you less your a certain class, level, build and it just ruins immersion. Atleast th epublic group system is fluid you just run in see people around check the group list and join. Some people talk, some people don't..to be honest I dont mind the quiet but thats my personal preference. My friends and I talk in the groups and usually others join us in the talking *shrug*
I scavage and butcher with two of my toons so im constantly getting mats and when I get a rare mat im usually tickled pink over it because right now the rarer mats net me a pretty big profit. How you can say there's no 'mats' and even call the subtle is ridiculous there's nothing Subtle about WoW and its mat system at all.
I've never waited more than 10 mins to get into a Scenario at night...during the weekdays you can wait a while since most people are at work.
I found it hard to find people on my sever that were doing PQ's and then once and if it got going to get everyone to understand what was going on.
Game is good for soloing, I never had a hard time with any of the quests.

Check out some of the mmo's I have played:

PC STATS:
- Q9550
- Evga GTX 280 SSC x2 (SLI)
- 8GB DDR3
- Nforce 790i Ultra
it depends on what class you are playing...as a shamen i have problems with some Quests but none that HAVE to do....and the LFG community has been done the OPEN party system is great.
I think you have basically two types of players playing mmo's.
First group just want to log on and get started as soon as possible. This group of players can't stand the thought of waiting around to get into a PUG.
Second group don't mind logging in and waiting around looking for a group.
So Mythic comes up with the concept of the public quest which is great for the first group of players. They can log and promptly be part of the action and work with others in a quasi sort of way.
Unfortunately Mythic sort of came up short with the second group. I guess you can't make both groups happy at the same time. Now when a developer can please both groups, then we have a perfect MMO in my opinion.
Well, this will not be a go back to WOW post, but I am curious why you are not playing WOW since you seem to be looking for things WOW has in WAR.
I played WOW myself for over a year and I think it's a great game. But after a year I felt like I had been there and done that and left, looking for something different. Well, WAR is different. It is not WOW and wanting it to be WOW does not seem like a realistic expectation.
You kinda remind me of a guy that breaks up with his girlfriend for one reason or another, but then compares each successive girlfriend to the first one. It's really unfair to the new girl who is a person in her own right.
So in closing, I would say if you are unhappy with what WAR lacks, admit to yourself that this game is not for you and move on.
See, that's the way MMOs are evolving into nowadays. I'm pretty sure we won't see a game like EQ1 again where there was practically no way to solo past level 10 unless you were uber twinked or a class that could solo things. But even then, your progression was small compared to being in a full group (group exp bonus). Now, games are designed for the player to be self-sufficient, you can be any class and log on for 20 minutes and just kills things without too much of a problem. There is little or no down-time in between battles, and the battles are fairly short. This has it's goods and bads. I mean, it's obvious that this kind of system ruins player-to-player interactions and allows one to go through the whole game without even having to use the chat system. For some people, it's great, because it means they can play this game casually, and not have to log on to wait for 20 minutes for a group, then maybe travel a long time, etc.
About the crafting. Yeah, I haven't tried it, but I heard that it sucks. If it's really important to you...then either quit and play something else (EQ1, WoW, Wurm Online, etc) or wait until Mythic implements a more attractive system.
Well, my advice would be to try joining a Guild. Maybe look up some forums and take a look at new guilds forming. That'll definitely allow you to do more "community"-like things. And another thing I found is that people aren't actually that anti-social. Because I went into a PQ yesterday and nobody was chatting. Then I started up by asking the people there if they wanted to form a group, then things started going from there. You can try to be the conversation starter.
Good luck, and see you in-game
Vince
I love Public Quests and I hate LFG. If you think I am retard, it is your opinion.
I'll be honest, i bought my guildies and guild officers with mand afew real life friends that neverplayed MMO's before, so I have plenty ofgroups for Order (as only a few of them like destruction, funnily)
But I find in game friends doing PQ's and just chatting
If you want a lfg game, try LOTRO. You will have to lfg for ages to get enough ppl who happen to be on the same specific part of the questchain as you do.
For nodehunting, try the same game. I really hate nodehunting for ingredients. LOTRO and another well known MMO have way too few nodes if you are forced to play on prime time.
To me there is nothing worse then forced idle time. I dont need this kind of mechanic to interact with other players. I prefer to do that more spontaneous like it is possible in WAR with the open party system. It is a brilliant system. So simple, but so bloody brilliant.
Best of both worlds, guild for planned prepared events and open party system for spontaneous action.
I hate lfg chat systems. I never thought I'd see people actually miss waiting for hours simply to find a group to do a single quest. I love the PQ system. PQs make up about 80% of my PvE experience. That way players have a more central location for group questing. The open grouping system is one of my favorite things about the game. Instead of constantly spamming chat channels and sending tells, groups just come to you.
"I love Public Quests and I hate LFG. If you think I am retard, it is your opinion."
why would i think yer a mentally handicapped person for saying what u like? lol
anyways thanks for the responses. maybe i should try lotro...i never liked the character choices tho. but i'll log back into war and give it some more. i guess i'm just saying how i wish WaR could be more of a middle ground game. instead of PQs everywhere, PQs here and there mixed with well-knowen instances that require LFG. why not have some nodes here and there for 2 or 3 professions? right now, its like the opposite of EQ or WoW. i think a mix of the 2 styles would be perfect.
I will only say this. thank God we are done with LFG in WAR. You want to experience first hand how annoying LFG is go to LOTR and GW. I don't want to spend hours and hours spamming LFG to start a missions which takes 10 mins to finish. NO THANK YOU.
I want to progress without any frustrations and roadblocks. That's why i love PQ system. Just join in, kill everything, roll and move on.
i completely agree with whoz this guy i loved wow and i want warhammer to be betterr cause i dont wanna go back but there isnt much in war yet you might wanna wait a while or get those titles and stuff till they bring something like that out
Yeah, coming home from work and sitting in the LFG tool for 2 hrs is a BLAST, no thanks. They still have LFG tools for other things other than PQs, but this game is designed for those, you know... who have a life?
I think your really missing the point of PQ's
first of all, theres no LFG, you just click on the open groups button, see the groups in your area with opening, choose one and "poof" your in a group.
Back to the point of PQ, i take it your treating PQ as the sole PVE of the game. Warhammer has given you a second option for both pve and rvr, a total of four paths, if you will, on your journey to endgame.
Those of us who do a little pve, hop in a pq, then jump into a scenario, after than possibly pq some more, pve solo a bit, check out open field rvr, do another scenario...are you getting the picture, those of us who break up gameplay i think are enjoying the game much more than the people hung up on one aspect, burning it out, and then telling everyone the game as a whole sucks (not saying the op did this)
I really think its the wow players, hung up on only one way to do things, unable to see the game through diffrent lenses, seeing one aspect of warhammer and thinking, this sucks and therefore the game sucks. While each individual aspec of warhammers 4 paths may not be the best ever, or have the ability to solely take you to endgame with much enjoyment, the combination of the 4 paths is really what makes this game entertaining for me.
Oh, yeah i do think the crafting system needs work, however, for those of us who played EQ2, which has one of the best crafting systems in mmo's as some say, gets to be such a huge hassel.
I think they made crafting something simple and easy for a reason, i know i got sick of running around for hours and hours collecting crap just to craft a few items. Some people like it but for me, i like the simple, non intrusive craft system.
Really, so many people expect an absolute perfect game in all aspects or they think it sucks, its quite childish and ridiculous.
Whatever happend to playing a game or fun?
