Looks like Clerics are low on the list. This makes me happy; means there will be plenty of demand for my supply of uber heals. Nothing worse than playing a healer in a game that's already full of them.
EDIT: Please remember the Stigma system does offer a lot of variety, HOWEVER: These stones aren't just handed to you. The most useful and powerful ones are rare items, dropping from raid bosses and gained from PvP rewards in the Abyss. It's not as if you'll be able to equip Chanter Skills as a Gladiator and just run around pwning things while buffing yourself. Not for a long time, at least...

I will be going with Cleric. I love the fast pace of trying to heal a whole group and hoping I do a darn good job. I love comments like "Great heals!" and being added to friends list in hopes of being available for help in tyhe future.
If at first you don't succeed; call it version 1.0
Cleric, i usually play a cleric, i love heavy armor/shield and heal. Spirit Master alt, pets are cuddly.
Clerics are the cliche robey in Aion. You can equip heavier armor sets with stigma stone usage but it'll come as a penalty. I believe someone said heavy armor on casters effects cast speed and max mp, but don't quote me on it.

Seems like the Chanter may do very well with self buffs to fill the role hes speaking of,
hmm voted for ranger. From previous guild vs guild / siege/ Raid I have found out that I lag a lot and freeze a lot lol. I don't think it is my computer, but it's just the way game processes mass players meet in small are.
Siege/Raids are the only reason why I would push my character for high levels and I think a ranger will be more suited for me as I have played ranger class in other MMOs as well as healer class and pet class.
Currently playing a ranger in a MMO and they are not very popular. Devs never improve/fix ranger skills along side other popular class since there isn't enough demand for rangers. I hope this game will be different as i am doing a lot of advertising to friends and trying to get friends to try this out when the time comes.
I have played a tank class for many years. Asherons, DAOC, Guild Wars, numerous free mmo's until last year I made a scout on DAOC and was hooked. I shall be a ranger or assassin. I play alone alot so I need a solo class. Assassins look B.A.!
i didn't want to play another stelath based class. but thats the one that acutally looks to have pvp abilities or maybe the videos i have seen the people just don't know how to play their classes.
RIght now nothing looks more badass then polearm assassin, Sadly because i was really looking forward to gladiator.
Assasin, as I have played charachters of the other classes or that can be adapted to play like those classes before. Never played a class where you can cloak and sneak around before so it should be interesting to try it out :-)

I would totally pick Cleric for that sole reason. I have alot of play time and I know others have even more play time than myself. As a Cleric, everytime I would log on, someone would be shouting for a healer. Gotta reach to the top the fastest way possible.
Meh, good reason - multiplay games suck If nobody actually wants to play with you :P. As i always say, what makes or breaks any multiplayer game for you is who you play it with

(I'm mainly just posting so I can hype up Aion. )
I'm surprised (I don't know why) at how many people are going to play Templar, which is what I picked. Tanking is just so fun...
I've already decided to make a Templar and a Cleric right away and level them simutaneously.
I'll be playing an assassin, however; the spiritmaster is the class which interests me the most.
The Sigma system and magic stones should provide some nice variety within each classes as well so things will be interesting to say the least.

Ranger FTW! Gotta love the sexy bows.
