not recieving activation email

I've tried to sign up for the free trial. But I'm not recieving my acctivation codes. I've put in my email several times and hit "resend" several times, also tried contacting support but I always get a message saying they're currently not available.

I was thinking maybe it has somethign to do with the fact I'm using a yahoo email account. There was one other game years ago that you had to use a pop3 email account or some such non-sense, not one of the third party types like yahoo, gmail etc. Is that the case?

I still can't convince myself to spend 2 bucks just to give the game a try.

    56 hours later, got it.

I wonder if that says something about the game.........

I do say so, because that's exactly what happened.

I don't think it says anything about the game, and not just because I play it.

If you notice, when you sign up for different forums, or any service that requires your email address in order to activate it, they'll have a disclaimer that says to give it at least 24 hours or what not, and if you don't receive it to notify them, or try again.

All kinds of things can happen with an email that are out of SE's control. It might get held up somewhere along its route (it doesn't go directly from SE to your host mail server), something might tag it as possible spam, etc. etc.

It's the nature of imperfect technology developed by imperfect people.

There's all manner of things that can happen to slow it down that have nothing to do with the entity sending it.

50+ hours *is* unusually a long wait, but I wouldn't say it's any indication of the game itself.

    Not at all.
