Old DAoC player here, with a question or two...

Heya all!
I started playing DAoC in the week where the game went live. I played for roughly a year before I burned out and decided to move on. I was very dissapointed in the RvR aspect of the game, and I found that it got old quick with the leveling. Good quests were too few and between and I'm not really the crafting type.
A few expansion packs later, I'm wondering if the game as evolved a lot, and if it might be worth it to start playing again...
Can anyone tell me how RvR as evolved, and if the game content itself as grown in the past few years?

Been playing for over 2.5 years. I left after the New Frontiers and Toa expansions. The free expansion for me ruined the game. It became a casters game. With porting straight to keep took out melee unless chargeing for lord. Out in the frontiers each keep has 4 towers and can not be climbed either. Tanks usually stand around or run siege. Casters stand on walls and nuke. With each keep there is inner keep and outer walls. Basiclly you have to punch through wall or go threw door and be in the courtyard. Where there will be a smaller keep that cant be climbed either. The outer walls can be climbed that is it. You can exit your pk and open up the frontiers and check keep status then port to a keep. Aslong that keep has all its 4 towers. Casters grew hard core in the game now. With TOA expansion. Items that increase spell range, spell damage, increase bow range, bow damage and lets not forget the runing of the doter classes. The heal fonts and power fonts. They are like hots for health and power. They like little totems and any friendly in there radius gives you the hot. The worst part of the toa expansions is the artifacts you get. Awesome stats but they start off at lvl 0 to lvl 10 and you have to do the xp grind to raise them. Like doing 1 to 50 all over again
. Some are even to the point you can only get xp killing certain mobs or during night or day. Along with the expansions making casters #1. The albs population is on every server is out of control. They offer bonus rp, xp and coin for killing mobs or rvr if you goto under pop realm. I even rolled few albs and it is just as bad as getting zerged constantly. Camp sites are over camped even df. In rvr you have to be fast to get a spell in or hit to get rp and xp for the kill. With doing the stress test in WoW. Between these expansions help me make my choice and leave daoc and goto wow. Wow open beta starts in couple weeks and has a release date of 11/15/04. Daoc was the best mmpg until it got ruined for me. This is one mans thoughts of the game. I have joined my friends in waiting for wow. You dont have a choice on New Frontiers if you want to goto bg or rvr.

NF has made it a range war, and since albion has the most range, they win
Melee's have almost no use in keep defense
ToA turned the game into an EQ wannabe. ML's take forever to finish now because hardly anyone does them.
Even though I still play, its becoming more and more prevelent that its not the game I got addicted to.
Yeah RVR got worse.
Read on the forums like vnboards. NOT that crappy biast sites like catacombs. But on a site that has more people posting real problems.

Played all 3 sides of the coin and balance dont exist in mythic small brain.
So if you like being the crem-of-la-crem play mids or hibs.. If you like playing the less gimped to high hell and back play albs.
I can kill anyone with solo class and my 3 pets two of them being healers and one bad @ss tank.. I can only kill one on a full group of albs because of my insta drain. I am a MID
I can mess stun mess any full group of albs in RVR and watch them stand there and waiste the purge then stun the whole group and kill them one by one. I am a HIB
I can kill no one solo. I can only hope we are so overpopulated that when i enter NF i can get some realm points. I am a alb
