Hello, I saw doing a google search that there was a free trial for this game at one point, is there still?

SgtFrog's link seems to be working for me, even though I am in the USA. I got a trial key and I'm downloading now.
Oh hrm, well I just noticed all the links are to European clients. The website gave me a Trial Key even after I told it I was in the USA, but it seems there is no USA client available, is that correct?
I can be wrong, but I think they closed USA trials until Mines of moria expasion comes out. Dont know why.
Excusme it looks like it works correctly. But European and USa clients are diferent, make sure you download the USA one. And you will need to download the book updates too.
I got a 14 trial key for shadow's of Angmar from Sgt's link above, but I can't seem to find a USA client download anywhere. All the links from the trial key page just link to european clients, and the main website for the game doesn't appear to have any links to client downloads that I can find.
Codemasters doesn't distribute the US client. You have to get that from Turbine.
Turbine has temporarily closed their open trials. They want people to buy the expansion.
But, current players can still email out referrals, which would email you a link to get the US client and connect to US servers.
I can email you one, just need your addy.

I too have been searching for a way to get a trial account. I'm considering buying the expansion and thinking that the $199 lifetime sub might be a good deal if they keep expanding the game. But I don't want to go that route without giving the trial a go.
Gaylen - If you would be willing to send a trial invite my way, that'd be awesome! I'll send you my email via PM, just in case.
p.s. I've lurked around mmorpg.com for ever, since the days when AO was big. Finally had the need to post, woohoo!
Could somebody send a buddy key to me also? I was looking at lotro again last week but couldn't see a dowload either...

Well, bummer. The link from the buddy invite to download the client doesn't work either. It seems they really don't want us to have a trial option right now. *sigh*

It would be freakin awesome to get a trial key! I had a trial about 3 months ago, and didn't get a chance to finish since I moved. Is it still possible to get trial keys? Since Turbine isn't handing them out by themselves that is..

Apologies for digging up a slightly old thread, but was wondering if anyone has buddy keys to give out? It seems the website still has the trial disabled (US version).

What I don't get is the European 14-day trial is still available. Why would you disable the Trial for the US at the launch of a new expansion when you want to bring all these new players into the game and most people won't buy before trying(myself included)
