Something that I found as I was surfing.
Which one do you think will get chopped?

I am going to assume it will be the Hammerer, just because the Choppa is one of the most looked forward to classes in the game and they might lose subscribers by ditching it.
I'd like to see the Choppa in. Either way though, like they said the other will most likely be replaced anyway. It's not like they will be a class short.
I want to see the Hammerer make it over the Choppa, but we need another Orc class. Was kinda looking forward to both TBH.
I doubt they would leave the number of classes per side uneven. If they were smart they would come up with a 5th Empire class instead of the cut hammerer, some variation of the choppa but less green. Dwarf and High Elf are too niche and it hurts Order.
Choppa won't be cut watch the hammer get replaced by the troll slayer or whatever it was called in the table top.
to be honest you guys will probably like the troll slayer more anyway. the hammerers momentum mechanic was lame and 90% of the time the little bastard never got started.
This is a great chance for Mythic to add in a truely bad ass dwarf class, something that will make more players choose that race.
Heres a Dwarf Slayer from the tabletop:

Tbh if you go by the first WAR cinematic that Dwarf fighting the black orc was actually a Slayer, he had the red/orange hair mohawk duel wielding axes, nothing like the hammerer.
Playing: Nothing
Looking forward to: Nothing
My bet is the Slayer will come in the hard part will be armor as in the lore Slayers do not wear armor. Other then that they would be a perfect DPS class.
i was gonna say slayer aswell =[ the orc choppa was probly the most popular class people wanted to play!! but anyway i rolled a dwarf ironbreaker the other day and one of the "quests" at the starting area gets you to speak to some lvl 2 champion dwarf who looks like a slayer, he has the red mohawk, no armour, and is badass!! so yea
AWEG RJN
I'm not subscribing to WAR, as I've said earlier, I probably will when there's more contents.
BUT, if the hammerer is out for good, then I'm almost certain that so am I.
I played it in closed beta, and back then it was my favourite. When we lost that class, there really was only Sorcerer left for me. One good class (for me), isn't enough to subscribe for.
Choppa was dead boring, and KotBS was... well, nothing special. BG was the only class we never got to test, so I don't know much about it.
Slayers a no brainer. Just as WoW used bloodelfs to bring the masses to the horde, hopefully this should give order a much needed population injection.
Will be a shame to see the hammerers go though. Was initially planning on playing one at release, I like smacking stuff with hammers
Yea, I can see the slayer class being the MDPS for dwarves.....it is wild, and would fight the niche. I think alot will like it as well.
I hope the Choppa stays and that dwarfs get the Slayer. I'll have one of both please mmkay.
I was surprised that the Slayer wasn't a playable class from start. Lorewise I don't think that there are many slayers so maybe that was one of the reasons.
Slayers are pretty common if you compare them to the likes of Warrior Priests and Bright Wizards. As an example these only exist as single hero units in the tabletop game, while Slayers come in entire regiments.
Lore-wise, slayers are seeking death, because of a grudge they want "removed" from their family name. Dwarves just dont commit suicide though, and seeks death in battle.
They said they didnt want slayers in, as according to lore, they are warriors of immense strength and experience, so they would have to make them overpowered. Also, playing a suicidial dwarf who most often travel alone wouldnt be feasible in WAR.
On top of that, Mythic arent making all decisions. Games Workshop play a big role in what classes they are allowed to implement.
I doubt they've ever said that. The only thing I've heard them say is that Slayers won't be playable at release, but that they'd like to see them later on as an advanced career, possibly in an expansion.
In addition, Slayers aren't particularly powerful. Generally speaking. Slayers are simply dwarfs who have dishonored themselves and take the Slayer oath. Some are good fighters, some aren't. Lorewise they're not more powerful than say, ironbreakers, but immensely less powerful than warrior priests, bright wizards and archmages.
Their "seeking out death" can be reflected by their career mechanic, and by not giving them the basic Flee ability that everyone else has.
Dont you dare drop my choppa!
RIP Orc Choppa
I was only worried until I saw that they will be replacing it. As long as Orcs get DPS...we're good.
Slayers are pretty common if you compare them to the likes of Warrior Priests and Bright Wizards. As an example these only exist as single hero units in the tabletop game, while Slayers come in entire regiments.
Yes you're right there. In my mind I was comparing Slayers to longbeards or hammerers or whatever it was they had intened for the MDPS.
This, coupled with the fact that there's been a huge movement on the WHA forums for them to ditch Hammerer and switch to Slayer (and he did say in the article they were going to drop one and switch it with another!). I would put money on it.
Maybe they could use a new armor class called tatoos, that could be cool. Different looking tatoos that had some stats, also they could have some skills that gave lots of temporal armor bonus or Toughness bonus. Making for a somewhat new kind of class.
They key to enjoying this game isnt in the classes, its in the guild you are in. If dont belong to an active guild and are a solo player, this game is really going to let you down.
got the marauder dont know why destro need the choppa.. how lame.
Maybe because, oh I dunno, variety is the key to success? Not everyone likes the Marauder you know.
