In the eurogamer preview it says it will be an open pvp game.
So everyone will just camp the quest givers, and everytime you try to read a quest, you will be ganked. Doesn't sound like much fun.

well ghoul they will have a pve and a pvp server hopefully they have a proper rule set for the pvp
i know the beginning zone will be no open pvp for the pvp server

Wait till the game releases? EVE is open PVP will full loot consequences (or at least all of your loot gets destroyed along with your ship) and this does not happen. Are there gate camps in certain areas? of course. Are there mechanics to detect them, avoid them, and play the game however you want..also yes.
I know you like to bash every game, and I a DF fanboi so sorry no defense on this one, but good lord go outside or read a book.

I think they are only refering to a ffa PvP server they played on, this game will have the option to go on servers like that, but the main servers will be PvE with PvP zones.
Personally I will be going on the FFA PvP servers, I doubt that they allow for you to kill quest givers when the only way to level is by completing quests.
Just as sad as people who bash a game they have never played .

You can attack in Eve in a "safezone" but there are NPCs that will fight you as a result. If you want to risk your ship then you can still kill.

Doesn't change the fact that it's still classed as fully open pvp. There are no official safezones where PvP is disabled and that is what the vast majority of players (and games companies) consider a safe zone.
You are just playing with words at this point. EVE has areas where you are safe from pkers , so its not a fully open pvp game

Anyway about the OP question,you arent going to get an answer at the moment as it is all under the nda,Though I thought that this game wouldnt get to many topics or posters critisising the game before it even released...I mean what do you have to lose? the game will be free to D/L with a free area to play in,you give the game a shot and if you dont like then just leave,all it cost you then was the electricity for the D/L,If you like it then you subscribe.

starter area will be relitive safe because of the npcs
but tcos will have a safe starter city

only stations but you can be pked in high sec zone but most likly that pk will die too

I didnt know we was talking about mining places ive just talking about high sec places ing eneral fine mining may not be included in DF but they will be included in the starter citys and clan citys most likly
Please stick to the topic if people want to talk about Darkfall or EvE use the correct forums. I don't mind the games being compared to other Open PvP games but when all posts turn into a discussion about other games and not the game in question then it is starting to be derailed.

As for the OP...I thought there were PvP n PvE servers. N the PvE servers would have PvP areas...I could be wrong, I am sure 'daylight01' would know better than me.
I thought so too. But the article doesn't say anything about PVP and PVE servers. It just says it will be an open pvp game. Maybe the article in incorrect.
