I have to agree with AKBandito . Most of the games coming out across all genres, especially mmos are complete garbage. With all the releases, I still feel like there is no where to go. They are all the same. Moving to a new one is not much different than rerolling a toon on whatever you are playing currently. Cookie-cutter McMMO's.
'09 has some things coming up. Let's hope are least one of them is decent. Preferebly a sci-fi mmo for once.
A sure sign that you are in an old, dying paradigm/mindset, is when you are scared of new ideas and new technology. Don't feel bad. The world is moving on without you, and you are welcome to yell "Get Off My Lawn!" all you want while it happens. You cannot, however, stop an idea whose time has come.
i like free trials. too bad (recently) many dont have a free trial for many months after the initial release (a bad move in my opinion). i know it would fuel box sales but at the very least a trial should be available (non box ones) from the end of the 1st month onwards.
as for buying em all. i've learnt to hold off. i only ever splash out for powerful IP's without proper research (AoC and WAR, both were great games but my machine sucked and i guess i lost interest with all the lag and crashing, havent been bothered to try again).
MMO wish list:
-Changeable worlds -Solid non level based game -Sharks with lasers attached to their heads

You didnt miss anything, really. AoC was exteremely unfinished and over-hyped by the fanbois and wasnt worth the time at all as far as im concerned with the gross lack of conent, and WAR is nothing more than performing the same thing over and over and over without any community, crafting, PvP achievements, but to play the same few scenario maps again and again and again to boredom imho.
Starcraft 2 and Diablo 3 are the only real PC games coming out eventually.
Awww...a console fanboy, how cute
How is he a console fanboy?
No required quests! And if I decide I want to be an assassin-cartographer-dancer-pastry chef who lives only to stalk and kill interior decorators, then that's who I want to be, even if it takes me four years to max all the skills and everyone else thinks I'm freaking nuts. -Madimorga-

Does anyone know how to make a mmoRPG anymore?

Lucky for you.

I'm looking forward to Jumpgate evolution (EVE just doesn't really do it for me) and Darkfall. *puts on nomex suit*
