Had a read over in AoC official forums. Seems like people are having a blast with Ymirs Pass. Great addition FC. forums.ageofconan.com/showthread.php

Of course it is the zone is gigantic and has good gear; however, its not a reason to come back and play the game. Everyone should wait until they release some more lvl 80 content.

Lmao dude , couple more dungeons that can be done in no time and limited replay value doesnt amount to much. The only people shitting thelsefs will be the DEvs again when new content has dryed up very fast and what little subs they do have dwindle once again and all they read on teh boards is "we need some real high end content!"
I've still seen a few ppl with problems with Ymirs, but it looks like the driver update to the latest ATI cataylst fixed the problem, only seems a handful of ppl with problems, I think that is down to the decent test time taken. I can imagine Mr Bylos sitting back cackling at his evil quest design!
It is a big and important zone for new players, that 55 grind was really boring.
However we really need Tarantia common and those 2 dungeons soon. Hopefully the launch around X-mas.
My guild did take a hit from WOTLK, WAR release wasn't even something I noticed there but now we lost some good players. Not sure if they will run both and just are away for a few days or not yet.
Should lvling content to get you to max level be in the initial release of the game?. Then they could of spent all their time adding end game content and fixing bugs after release.
Really can't see the point of praising something that should of been in from the start. Guess some people are easily pleased.
Too bad no one is allowed to post anything negative about it without being banned or the post being deleted... The AoC official forums are NOTHING to judge the state of the game by.
Tecmo Bowl.
Just to point out.. WOW, 3 years after release, went back and added new quest hubs to Dustwallow because they felt there was some 'lacking' while leveling from 35-40.
But WOW kinda changed the rules. Before WOW, there wasn't a game where you could just quest your way to the lvl cap. Every other game required lots of grinding. AOC had its areas where the 'grinding' was more noticable. Ymir's pass filled one of those.
I have to say this and dont have an anuerism anyone: I am expected to be excited that almost 6 months out from launch, Im being given a taste of content that should have been in the game at launch?
This really is a pay to play beta. They released the game 8 months early and well... They took the hit in sub numbers... Glad to see someone has stepped up to get the game on track...
When can I expect that this game will play like it should have at release? 6 months?
Ymir's was not previous promised content, it should not of been in the game at launch its an addition and I think thats why a lot of people are enjoying it.

I tested Ymirs pass. Feel free to give me a pat on the back
There was NO leveling content in EQ...

They didn't add it out of the goodness of their hearts, or because they didn't have anything better to do.
They added it because they were short content for that level range. That was a shortcoming from how it was launched, thus I believe you have the comments "should have been in at launch".
And, they have a LOT more content to add still. The game is still short.
Hell hath no fury like an MMORPG player scorned.
Hehe this sounds funny for the guy that have Darkfall in his signature
Boy o boy i can smell new DF hater (if)once that game is released.

Like I said it should of been in from start. If they would of had 3 additional zones in game to aid in the lvling process they could of then spent all their time on part of the game that matters most....endgame. Now if they would of done that, they would of retained a majority of their player base instead of losing it.
imo back in the design stages of the game they would of intended to have areas like this in game....they just ran out of time. Saying that areas like this were not intended at release are just short sighted.
As for the guy using wow as an expample of lack of content. I played from beta and not once did I grind mobs for exp other than questing. And I must say the lvling zones in the wow expansion including the quests are putting other games out there to shame. They really are that good.

I'm a WOW-fanboy. I just wanted to point out that even WOW had to add 'leveling content' to their game. It wasn't to bash WOW, it was just a truthful statement.
The other big thing is simply that WOW is the exception. There isn't another game out there where you DIDN"T have to grind mobs to level. WOW is much better than everyone in this regard.

Exactly. What about all the people including myself, who posted a thread on official forums stating *im cancelling my account* and then giving a long list of constructive critisms explaning why and how the game could be improved.
These threads are then locked saying its against forum rules to state your leaving...despite it being a constructive thread. That was just a lame loophole to give mods the power to close threads that showed any negativity towards the game. Never before has such forum policing been seen on an official forum before. In the end it just made Funcom look pathetic and desperate. But think what you want...85% of the original player base tend to agree with my perspective.

WoW is really the exception to the grind that dominates other games. I picked up AoC a little while ago to play with a friend. We are enjoying our leveling together. We recently did pyramid of the ancients. It was a lot of fun. I am busy with WoTLK atm, but I am looking forward to seeing the rest of Ymir's pass.

Where did we pull that percentage from? Broad sweeping 'aged' statements really are not relevant anymore. The thing is FC let everyone know the rules of their forum right up front if peopel get pissy because they can't stick to the rules then there really isn't anything else to say. Needless to say I haven't seen one Ymir Pass constructive thread locked and only half a dozen posts from people with genuine issues from which the community is helping out. Far more less QQ than anyother update = resounding implementation.

Selective enforcement of the rules, Anarchy Online forums have the exact same rule set, yet posting 'Goodbye' threads (even with criticisms) is a long standing tradition there and aren't locked / deleted.
