Martial Heroes vs 9 Dragons...good question. In some ways it's similar to 9 Dragons, but fortunately, it's way better. I think it's one of the very few games that is noob friendly and fun to play. Instead of constant grinding since lvl 1, you get all these quests that are for once extremely rewarding: huge xp ammount (even at lvl 50 - 60 you can level up by just solving 2 - 3 quests), fame (an important aspect of the game), items (such ar weps and armor - which cost a lot at NPCs, so getting them for free is always a good deal). Is a well thought and organised game, with enough content to keep you hooked.
Of course there are some annoying aspects, such as the lack of extended info. You either figure almost everything on yourself, 'cause the official website is not much of a help in this matter. Some quests lack info too: for instance you're asked to kill a certain mob, but you're not told where you can find it. The item drop rate is not so good: very few items, limited gold, and most of the time you'll get gear for any other character except yours; and when you finally get something that fits, the stats are usually worse then the ones bought from NPC. Another thing that I hate is that you can't buy all skill books and gear from one NPC; in each town you can buy only some of them, according to the overall level of the map; so if you need a lower lvl book you have to hop from one location to another and so on. Last, but no least, I hate that the mounts are timed.
But like I said, it's fun playing it, it's lag free most of the time (at least for me), quests are balanced (you won't be asked to do something you're not capable at that lvl) and has a relaxed pace (it's probably the game in which I died the less). It does what any good MMO should do: make you relax and having fun.
Dragulea, that was perfect, thats just about everything i liked about my Martial Heroes experience, sometimes i wonder why i left... But if your looking to have some fun, give it a shot, beware, you have to watch out for pk'ers, i was lucky enough to start early so i didn't have to deal with guys 20+ levels higher than me.
Hehe, you know, it's a funny thing: I don't like pvp so I tend to stay away from games that are centered around it, but somehow I end up in a no chance to win pvp encounter! And the more I search for a relaxed and peacefeul game, the less successful I am - right now I'm playing Zu, in which a player 90 lvls higher than you can attack you...
Hmm honest feedback. Well the game itself is excellent, great engine, fun quests and ofcourse easy on the eye. However it does have it's drawbacks, while it is essentially a free to play game you will find yourself in a position where you have to spend quite alot of cash when you start. It has a cash mall with items such as war fare pots that give bonus stats but it has to be the most expensive item mall I have come accross. For example $10 gets you 2,000 MH points ( cash points ), which may sound alot but for that you can't get very much maybe 2 taesungstones which change the class of an item for 800 mh EACH and they only change 1 item.
You may find yourself saying you can do without these items but from around lvl 100 on this game you need to use the cash map if you want to make lvling at all fun. 30 days access to this map with a few warfare pots ( around 20 hours worth ) will cost you around 4,000 MH points ( $20 ). $20 a month x 12 months thats $240 just for access to a map ? Which other pay2play games do you pay that kind of subscription ?
It is a real shame that there are no private servers of martial heroes because like I said the game is great but CR-Space are charging over the odds for things that should be included in a free game.
The european server is quite alot cheaper as alot of the cash mall items are different, that can be found at www.martialheroes.eu and is hosted by Game Entertainment Europe however the patches and updates are still controlled by CR-Space.
just a question.. is it even possible to reach lvl cap without having to pay real money for these maps? (just forget about grind :P)

+1 That's the problem with this type of games: you level up quickly if you do the quests because the xp rewards are substantial, and then you hit a wall and you're forced to grind straight up like in any other grinder - now I might be wrong, but to me that's saying unbalanced game: either make it a grinder since level 1 (with a nice xp curve), or let it be a quest xp based game straight to the very last levels, because mixing these styles won't result in a very good playing experience. I for instance loved the game up until level 50 (really enjoyable!), but hated to go back to pure grinding pass lvl 50 - so I decided to quit.
The game is good. But yeah lvls 50-60 is complete grinding. Then it gets a bit better at lvl 60-67 then lvl 68-75 u grind and u do this again at lvl 80-84. Its not too bad if u pace urself. like 10% a day . We NEED Playerz. Pls the game is dead since GM hun was a dick . (he killed the game then left). We need players plz join. he game will run with a so-so computer. i believe windows Xp or better. only is 256 mb to download. PLz join.
Now my main bame lvl 53 with 20% exp. and this period from lvl 51-59 is so boring...there is no quest, but after lvl 59 its so much fun...my friends tell me...
