See in this forum, despite your best efforts abramhm, we like to talk about a game we are all interested in. So when some journalists visit the studio and post pictures from their trip...that is worthy of a thread to share it among friends.

I know this is a tough concept but try to open your mind and think slowly.

No no, I understand, you want to show pics of the studio. I'm confused about why you did the same thing you always do, post some irrelevent little piece of info, make it out to be so much more than it is, intentionally bait the "trolls", and then troll yourself by continually trying to argue the whole time. Don't you get tired of it? Do you ever leave your house?

Posting pics of the studio is one thing, but the title and your posts afterwards make you nothing more than a troll, and a rather poor one at that.

All kidding aside, i see where you are comming from. Unfortunatly this forum is what it is. Could the OP have done without the comments about how this proves it isnt fake? Absolutley. I shouldnt need to confirm what is already fact, just because some trolls want to bait people...i should just let it go.

As far as leaving my house...laptops are fun and my job is not only a lot of fun in that im very mobile...but it allows me to hop on forums during slower times.

Most are questioning whether it is where they say it is, has what they say it has, and will be availiable when they say it will be available, nothing else. But I get the feeling you keep falling back to the "It's not fake!" argument because you don't have legitimate defenses against the previously mentioned, very legitimate concerns. I don't think a lot of the people you have labeled as "trolls" are cheering for Darkfall to fail, or suck, or not come out, but are just saying "Hey wait a minute, this isn't adding up quite right". I have been very skeptical and very vocal with my skepticism about the game, but I still want it to come out, be good, and do well. You label us as anti-darkfall, when in reality we are just anti-fanboi, trying to get a clear indication that anything we are told is actually true without completely falling onto blind faith.

Aye thats right. Darkfall game of today is 5 year old and not a 7 old one as some claims. Game was more or less restarted mid 2003.

Even the developers of Darkfall of today call it a 5 year old game, not a 7 year old one.

They can say what they want, you talking about "Well Technically since we started over some of this stuff in '03 it's only been 5 years".

Whatever, the game started development 7 years ago, regardless of starting over, getting new devs, selling out to someone else. The base of this game founded itself 7 years ago. That is a hell of a long time to be this far along.

First, the things we have heard from MMORPG.it confirm that they are indeed in a closed public beta. Alas, some of the best support for this had to be removed, because it revealed the names that some of the beta testers were using in game (I can personally attest to its validity, as I've got a copy).

Some are, some aren't. After all, I don't think this applies to people like TenSpotting. You did cover this, but I think it is worth noting that the few who still think of this game as vapor are extremely vocal, and shoving evidence down their throats is perfectly acceptable. That said, I think OriginalEgg might need to take a real hard look at his definition of a troll.

my definition of troll off the top of my head is someone who posts excessive negative comments and/or makes posts with the sole intention of causing flames.

I never call healthy skeptics trolls...never.

Look at Zorvan, singsofdeath, etc guys like that are healthy skeptics.

If i didnt think i would get insta reported and banned...i would post a laundry list of known trolls with links to an absurd amount of posts they have made that show that they are indeed trolls.

again im all for skeptics and people who have opinions about the game that are bad...but it is the ones that are clearly here to cause trouble i have issues with

I agree. I think the issue of trolling is not one of those "it's a fine line between..." issues. Either you're a troll or you're not, and it's usually pretty obvious which.

I, too, could come up with a dozen or more people off the top of my head who are known trolls, but for whatever reason still have not been banned, and are still here trolling to this day.

10 years = a troll running out of arguments? I think it's been in development for 5 years if you want to be a nit. However, I do find it funny how they wont invite a reputable media company to report on them: I.E. PC Gamer Magazine , PC Gamer World, IGN the vault, MMORPG.com, or any other reputable sources; all they can find is non-english speaking interviewers. You would think Darkfall would be trying to show people the game is real and is in fact going to release by doing interviews with reputable companies , yet they refuse to do so... bad marketing??

They certainly aren't going to win any marketing awards

Their stance is the game will speak for itself. A bold strategy and one that we will have to wait to release to see if it pays off.

However I will say that it is already working. It is one of the most talked about games with almost nothing invested in marketing.

I applaud them in the sense that they dont need to prove their game is real. They know it is, they apparently have confidence in it and think that when they release it that it will speak for itself.

One thing I will also say is that before the gameplay video was released, and this forum was still mainly trolls going "lol vaporware" literally in every thread, there was a quote I think by brannoc saying "well if the game isnt real, then someone better tell all those guys working in greece to stop doing whatever they are doing" i know i got that quote wrong but the message is the same. And it turns out that they are and that they just dont care what some people on a forum think.

Remember that you, me, and everyone on this mmorpg.com forum make up <1% of the the people who will play DF if it releases well and gets great reviews. So if the handful of us want to bicker about the game, they dont care. They have nothing to prove to us.

First of all, the OP was trolling. Trolling isnt necessarily negative comments(although it often is), trolling is a comment that attempts to get a lot of negative or confrontational comments, so as to encite a flame war.

Second of all, id like to comment on the subject matter. There are people who keep saying they want to be exceedingly safe because they dont want to receive the pain they did by falling in love with a previous game (AoC, DnL). I can understand this. The last and first time this ever happened to me was with Anarchy Online (I was quite dissapointed) I missed Dark and Light and the video's of AoC looked like ass and it was a lvl based game so I wasnt excited at all. I guess I was dissapointed with Assasin's Creed.. although it didnt matter much and I just went back to COD4.

Anyway, I can say honestly, that in my opinion when I look at all of the videos, information, and pics available it seems to me it is a far stretch to think that the game will be a buggy mess with half of the promised content. Every promise I have found important appears to have overhealming evidence. I mean it can be genuinly argued that it is fake.. still.. There are also entire books written about how elvis is still alive.. with overwhealming evidence.

If saying DF is a joke is to prevent you from teh pain of loss you already received.. i guess you are smart for beign skeptical..but in my opinion.. very little of what Aventurine says does not make sence to me.

Hmmm, actually it is far older.... since it was anounced in 2001, and you only anounce a game when the basic development are done (of course, if you are a serious company).

You may say, Adventurine has it for already 6 years, but them, they hired most of Razorwax crew.

Darkfall development should be around 9 years, 1 year before anouncement, 2 years after it under Razorwax and 6 years (going to seven) with Adventurine.

Comming in 200?....
